Entering and Managing Data in the Spreadsheet Block

Drag-to-Fill is a Spreadsheet Block feature in QuoteCloud that lets you quickly repeat values, extend numeric or date patterns, and apply formulas across multiple rows or columns. It speeds up data entry and ensures consistent line items and calculations when building quotes or proposals inside your sales quoting software.

Enter the value or pattern in a cell and select that cell. Hover over the small square in the cell's corner (the fill handle), click and drag across the rows or columns you want to fill, then release the handle. The selected target cells will be filled with the repeated value or an extended pattern.

Yes. Enter a formula in one cell, select it, then drag the fill handle over the target range. The formula will be copied and adjusted for each row or column—relative references change automatically while absolute references (using $) remain fixed—so totals and line-item calculations update correctly across your quote or proposal software.

You can type a value directly into a cell, click the Formula Bar to enter or edit longer expressions, or double-click a cell to edit inline. Finish edits by pressing Enter or clicking outside the cell to save your changes. These methods let you quickly update quantities, prices, and descriptions for quotes and proposals.

Both are supported and useful in different situations. Use the Formula Bar for longer formulas, complex expressions, or when you need more space to review calculations. Edit directly in the cell or double-click for quick corrections and simple value changes—this is often faster when preparing or adjusting line items in quote software.
