From the left sidebar navigation menu, click Company Settings to access dashboard configuration options.

Open the Preferences tab within the Company Settings page.

In the Dashboard Options section, find the Create Document Button Action dropdown menu.

Choose how the Create Document button behaves by selecting one of the available options: Ask when clicked, Choose Template, Blank Template, or a predefined Company Template.

Choose Ask when clicked if you want users to be prompted each time they click the Create Document button.

Return to the dashboard and click Create Document. A prompt will appear asking which action or template the user wants to use.

Change the dropdown option to Choose Template to open the template selection modal automatically.

Click Create Document from the dashboard to open the template gallery and select a document template before creating a document.

Choose Blank Template if you want the Create Document button to immediately open a new blank document editor.

Click Create Document from the dashboard to confirm that a blank document opens instantly.

Choose a predefined company template from the dropdown list to automatically launch that template whenever the Create Document button is clicked.

Return to the dashboard and click Create Document to verify that the assigned company template opens automatically.
The Create Document button has four behaviours you can choose from: Ask When Clicked (prompt the user each time), Choose Template (open a template selector), Blank Template (start a new blank document immediately), and Company Template (automatically create from a designated company default template). These options let you tailor new document flows for your sales quoting software and proposal software workflows.
Open your QuoteCloud dashboard settings and look for the Create Document button preferences. Choosing Company Template causes the Create Document button to automatically open the template designated as your organisation's default. This enforces consistent branding, formatting, and legal content across all new documents, which is particularly helpful when using QuoteCloud as your sales quoting software or proposal software.
Typically an account administrator or any user granted access to company/dashboard settings can change the Create Document behaviour. If you don’t see the option, check with your QuoteCloud admin to confirm permissions or have them update the preference for your team.
For consistent client-facing documents and faster approvals, set the button to your company default template so every quote or proposal follows brand and compliance rules. For teams that need flexibility, use Ask When Clicked or Choose Template. Use Blank Template for quick internal notes or rough drafts.
