QuoteCloud allows you to export document data for reporting, analysis, or external use. This guide explains how to export in CSV format.
The Export Document Data feature lets you extract document-related records from the QuoteCloud Document Dashboard into a downloadable file for reporting, analysis, backup, auditing, or other external use. This is especially useful for teams using sales quoting software or sales proposal software who need to consolidate quote and proposal metrics outside the UI for business intelligence or archival purposes.
Exports from the Document Dashboard are generated in CSV format. CSV files are broadly compatible with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets), BI tools, and custom reporting pipelines, making them ideal for further analysis or import into other systems.
Using CSV output from your quote software or proposal software lets you quickly build dashboards, run pivot reports, or ingest records into accounting and analytics platforms.
Exporting enables deeper analysis than the live UI: you can perform complex joins, aggregate large datasets, keep long‑term records, and feed data into BI tools or accounting systems that require CSV input. For organizations using QuoteCloud as their quote software or proposal software, exports are the best option when you need custom reporting, historical archives, or integrations that can’t be performed directly in the Document Dashboard UI.
The export process is initiated from the Document Dashboard. Open the Document Dashboard in QuoteCloud, apply any filters or selections you need (date ranges, statuses, customers, etc.), and use the export option on that screen to generate a CSV of the selected documents.
Availability can vary by product edition and account configuration. If you don’t see the export option in your Document Dashboard, check your edition and permissions or contact your QuoteCloud administrator or support team to confirm whether exports are enabled for your Edge or Java Edition environment.
Exported CSVs contain the document-related records you selected in the Document Dashboard. Common columns include identifiers (document ID), status, dates, customer information, totals, and other document metadata, but the exact columns depend on your QuoteCloud configuration. Run a test export to preview the CSV columns or consult your administrator for a field list.
CSV is a universal format for importing into BI platforms (Power BI, Looker, Tableau), spreadsheets, and accounting software. You can upload the CSV to your BI tool to build dashboards or schedule data transformations for reporting. For accounting integrations (for example, with QuickBooks Online), map CSV columns to your accounting fields or use QuoteCloud’s integration tools to sync transactions and customer data where supported.
Treat exported document CSVs as sensitive business data: limit who can perform exports, download to secure locations, encrypt files at rest and in transit, and follow your company’s data retention and privacy policies. For long‑term storage or backups, use access‑controlled cloud storage and keep an audit trail of who exported and accessed the files.
