This guide shows you how to customise your e-signature block in QuoteCloud, allowing you to update signatures, add images, and create a polished, branded look for your documents.
An e-signature block is a configurable element you place inside a document to collect a digital signature from a recipient. Customising the block lets you control its label, appearance, visibility of signer details (for example name or date), and how it behaves during the signing workflow so the block matches your document and process requirements.
Customisation settings for an e-signature block are available in the Document Editor when you add a new e-signature block or edit an existing one. Open the block properties or settings pane for the block you want to change to view and update available options.
Typical customisation options include the block label or title, instructional or placeholder text, whether the block is required or optional, and toggles to show signer metadata such as name and signing date. Exact available options and terminology may vary; consult the block properties in the Document Editor for the full list.
Marking a block as required normally prevents the document from being completed until an assigned signer has provided a signature for that block. This ensures essential signatures cannot be skipped during the signing workflow.
Many e-signature blocks include options to display or capture the signer’s name and the signing date alongside the signature. These fields typically populate automatically when the signer completes the signature, but availability depends on the specific block settings in the Document Editor.
Customised signature blocks are applied to individual signers or roles in the document. If your document requires multiple signers or a defined signing order, assign each block to the appropriate signer or role so the signing workflow enforces the intended sequence and recipient responsibilities.
When you save a document as a template, block settings and customisations are typically retained so future documents created from that template inherit the same e-signature configuration. Check the template-saving options in the Document Editor to confirm how block settings are handled.
If a signature block is not appearing or is not being enforced, verify that the block is visible in the editor, assigned to the correct signer or role, and marked as required when needed. Also confirm the document has been published or saved correctly. If issues persist, review permissions and workflow settings or consult your administrator.
