Expand or collapse task groups or phases

1

Select the Gantt Chart

Start by clicking on the Gantt Chart block.

This lets you interact with the tasks inside the chart.

2

Find a grouped task

Grouped tasks are marked with an arrow next to the task name.

This arrow lets you expand or collapse the tasks within the group.

3

Expand the group

Click the arrow beside the grouped task.

The group expands to show the child tasks inside it.

4

Review child tasks

Once the group is expanded, all child tasks within it are displayed.

Task groups can also contain other groups, which can be expanded to reveal additional sub-tasks.

5

Edit expanded tasks

When the group is expanded, you can see all task details.

You can then review or edit the child tasks as needed.

6

Collapse the group

Click the arrow again to collapse the group.

Collapsing task groups keeps the Gantt Chart cleaner when you do not need to view every sub-task.

Well Done!

You can now expand and collapse task groups in your Gantt Chart.

Use this to manage complex project timelines while keeping the chart easy to read.
