Update your document title in just a few clicks.
This guide shows you how to quickly change your document’s title from the editor. Perfect for keeping your documents organized, searchable, and easy to manage.
Open the document in the QuoteCloud editor, then click or tap the document title at the top of the editor. Edit the text directly to the new title and use the editor's standard save or confirm action to apply the change.
This quick step works in both desktop and mobile views and keeps your quotes and proposals organized within your sales quoting software.
Yes. QuoteCloud's search and dashboard filters use document titles to surface proposals, quotes, and generated documents faster. Meaningful, descriptive titles make documents much easier to find in your workspace.
For step-by-step filtering instructions, see the How to Filter Documents in the Dashboard article in the QuoteCloud help center.
When you create a document from a template, update the title to reflect the client, date, project, or purpose. For example: "Acme Corp — Service Proposal — 2026-01-28."
This separates the instance from the original template, improves searchability in your quote software, and makes it easier to track versions and client deliverables.
Any user who has editing access to the document can change its title from within the editor. If the title is not editable, you likely have view-only or comment permissions—contact the document owner or an administrator to request edit access.
Use the editor's standard save or confirm action to ensure the new title is recorded. If you navigate away before saving (and your workspace does not auto-save), the title change may not be applied and the previous name will remain.
Renaming a document does not change the original template that the document was created from. The title change is an edit to that document instance; version history will preserve prior titles and show the rename as part of the document's edit history.
The document title appears at the top of the QuoteCloud editor. On mobile, tap the title to switch it into edit mode, update the text, and then use the save/confirm control in the editor to save the change.
Clear, descriptive titles make proposals and quotes easier to find, filter, and report on across your sales quoting software and sales proposal software workflows. Good titles improve collaboration, speed up client follow-ups, and help integrations (for example with accounting or CRM tools) surface the correct document quickly.
