This guide walks you through adding a text block, editing content, and using the formatting toolbar to style your text. Perfect for building clean, professional-looking content in just a few clicks.
Open the Text Editor widget and look to the right-side navigation panel. Click the Document Data Items icon to reveal the full list of available data items for the current document in QuoteCloud.
Yes. The data items list includes a search/filter field so you can quickly find specific fields (for example, customer name or quote number) without scrolling through the entire list—very helpful when building quotes or proposals with sales quoting software or sales proposal software.
Yes. QuoteCloud supports multiple types of data items to match different data sources:
- Document Data Items: standard fields that come with your document (for example, customer name or quote number).
- Contact Data Items: custom fields you create to store extra contact information.
- Product Data Items: custom fields you create to store additional product details used by your quote software or proposal software.
Select the text block in the editor, place your cursor where you want the dynamic content to appear, then use the editor’s insert‑data functionality to choose the data item you need. The editor will insert a token/placeholder that is populated from your document’s data sources when the document is rendered—making it easy to produce personalized quotes and proposals quickly.
Yes. When you insert a data item token into a text block, it pulls values from the document’s data sources and updates automatically. Changes to the underlying data (for example, a different customer name or updated product details) will be reflected in the document output without manual edits.
Yes. You can create custom Contact Data Items and Product Data Items to store additional fields specific to your workflows. Once created they appear in the data items list and can be inserted into text blocks—useful for tailoring proposals when using quote software or proposal software.
Yes—inserted data tokens inherit the formatting applied in the text block. Use the Text Editor’s formatting toolbar to style the surrounding text (font, size, color, bold/italic) or to add links. Preview your document to confirm the final appearance of dynamic values in the rendered quote or proposal.
If a data item has no value in the document’s data source, the token will render without content (blank) in the output. To avoid empty fields in quotes or proposals, check and populate the related contact or product fields, set default values where possible, and preview the document before sending.
