Importing Products from External Sources (CSV) is QuoteCloud’s CSV-based process for bringing product data into your QuoteCloud product catalogue. It lets you bulk upload and update many catalogue items in a single operation so your sales quoting software and proposal software stay accurate and consistent without manual entry.
QuoteCloud imports product data from CSV (comma-separated values) files. Prepare one product per row and include clearly named column headers for each attribute you want to import (for example: SKU, Name, Description, Price, Currency).
Yes. The CSV import feature is designed for bulk uploads so you can add or update large numbers of catalogue items in a single operation. This saves time compared with manual entry when onboarding new SKUs or updating pricing across your quote software or sales proposal software.
Yes. QuoteCloud lets you save field mappings between your CSV columns and QuoteCloud product fields as reusable templates. Saving a mapping template means you can reuse the same CSV structure for future imports without re-mapping fields each time, speeding up repeated uploads.
Yes. CSV imports are intended to make catalogue maintenance efficient — you can add, change, or remove listings in bulk. To ensure updates apply correctly, include a consistent unique identifier (for example, SKU) in your CSV so existing items are matched and updated rather than duplicated.
During import you’ll be prompted to match each CSV column to a QuoteCloud product field (Name, SKU, Price, Description, etc.).
Review required fields carefully, map the unique identifier (SKU) to the corresponding product field, and save the mapping as a template if you’ll reuse the same CSV structure.
At minimum include a unique identifier (SKU), product name, and price. Recommended columns include description, currency, category, tax code, stock quantity, unit of measure, and image URLs if available. Use clear header names and keep one product per row so the import mapping can be applied reliably by your sales quoting software.
First check the import error messages and your CSV headers. Common fixes include ensuring the SKU (or chosen unique identifier) is present and consistent, confirming required fields are not empty, and verifying column-to-field mappings. Try a small test import before uploading a large file. If problems persist, restore from your last catalogue backup or contact QuoteCloud support for assistance.
