Terms that are repeated throughout your sales quote, such as your company name, the customer's name, the sales quote title and sub-title, etc., need not be manually typed throughout your sales quote. Instead, you can use a Data Item. QuoteCloud will replace the associated information when the sales quote is generated; this mechanism is sometimes known as a macro, token, or data merge.
QuoteCloud has a set of system Data Items as follows:

You also have access to custom Data Items as follows, these can be defined to contain any data you require,
- ${attr_customfield1!}
- ${attr_customfield2!}
- ${attr_customfield3!}
- ${attr_customfield4!}
- ${attr_customfield5!}
- ${attr_customfield6!}
- ${attr_customfield7!}
- ${attr_customfield8!}
- ${attr_customfield9!}
- ${attr_customfield10!}
If you have not set up any custom "user-defined" fields yet - you can learn more about how to do this in How do I Create Custom Fields.
If you come across any text which starts with a $ and is surrounded by curly brace - for example, $ {companyName} - you now know you are dealing with a Data Item, in this instance referring to the Company Name.
When the sales quote is generated (web and PDF versions), all Data Items are replaced with their proper respective values. This is particularly handy when updating your sales quote as you only need to make a change in one place; it also means templates can be dynamic and adjust to the specific sales quote input values.
You can manually type in the Data Item name, but an easier alternative is to use the drop-down list in the editor toolbar menu, in the menu option called "Data Items".
