This setup is especially useful on tablets and touch devices, where keeping pricing tables expanded improves navigation and editing efficiency.
Enabling 'Always Show Price Table in Edit Mode' keeps the document's pricing table expanded and visible while you make edits. That means you can change prices, quantities, discounts, and totals without first clicking to open the table.
This makes editing faster when using QuoteCloud as your sales quoting software or sales proposal software.
Line item notes are per-item annotations that explain scope, options, exclusions, or special pricing for a single price line. Showing them while editing gives context for each charge and helps prevent errors or misunderstandings.
Displaying line item notes is especially useful when preparing detailed quotes or proposals with complex items in your quote software.
When the price table and notes remain visible you can compare prices, adjust quantities, and read item-specific comments without extra clicks. This streamlines reviews and reduces the chance of overlooking important details during document preparation.
For teams using QuoteCloud as proposal software or quote software, this improves accuracy and shortens the time needed to finalize a quote or proposal.
This option forces the price table and line item notes to stay expanded in Edit Mode, so navigation is smoother and edits are faster. It removes the need to repeatedly expand the table while working on a document.
Users on tablets and other touch devices benefit most, since tapping to expand sections can be slower or inconvenient on touchscreens.
Open QuoteCloud and go to Company Settings → Preferences. Turn on the option labeled something like 'Always show pricing table line item notes in edit mode.' Once enabled, the price table and notes remain visible whenever you open a document in Edit Mode.
The setting is located in the Company Settings → Preferences area, so it is configured at the company level for your QuoteCloud account. Check with your account administrator if you need a different behavior for specific users.
This preference affects the Edit Mode experience to help authors review and edit documents more efficiently. It does not automatically change how templates render for clients, but you should preview the final document or exported PDF to confirm the public view matches your desired presentation.
Use the feature when drafting complex quotes or multi-line proposals so you can see line-level context without interruptions. Combine it with clear line item notes to reduce back-and-forth with customers and speed approvals.
If you frequently migrate quotes to accounting systems like QuickBooks, keep notes concise and consistent so your quote software and downstream workflows remain accurate.
