Getting started with QuoteCloud

QuoteCloud + Close

Close opportunities become signed QuoteCloud quotes

Zapier can create a QuoteCloud quote from your template when a Close opportunity reaches a chosen status, then mark it won when the client signs. Reps stay in Close and the paperwork follows the pipeline.

What Close is

Close is a sales CRM built around calling, email and a fast-moving pipeline of leads and opportunities. QuoteCloud customers connect it so quotes start from the opportunity and signed work comes straight back.

Workflows

Three Zaps worth building first

Each one is a trigger in one app and the steps that follow in the other. Build them as they are, or change any step.

01

Create the quote when an opportunity is marked site-assessed

  1. WhenCloseNew Opportunity in Status
  2. ThenQuoteCloudCreate Document

When an opportunity moves into your Site assessed status, a QuoteCloud quote is created from your template with the customer's details and price-table rows for the system and installation.

Solar & battery

Tallowwood Solar & Storage

Tallowwood Solar & Storage runs its sales calls in Close. After the site assessment at 18 Larkspur Lane, the rep moves Jess and Arlo Penhaligon's opportunity to Site assessed, and Zapier creates the solar and battery quote with rows for panels, inverter, battery and installation. The rep checks the system size before sending. Battery upgrades stay as options the Penhaligons tick.

Trade services

Ridgeline Trade Services

Ridgeline Trade Services quotes jobs like a switchboard upgrade or a hot water replacement, and tracks every enquiry in Close. When a customer signs, Zapier marks the opportunity won and creates a task for the office to book the electrician or plumber. Nadia in the office works from one task list instead of checking two systems.

Software & SaaS

Plinthwork

Plinthwork sends renewal proposals like Your Plinthwork renewal, 2027 to 2029 to Mossbank Health Partners. Questions from the operations director arrive as comments on the document. Zapier copies each comment onto Mossbank's lead in Close as a note, so the account executive sees it with the rest of the account history and can reply quickly in QuoteCloud.

FAQ

QuoteCloud and Close: questions

How does QuoteCloud connect to Close?

It runs through QuoteCloud's Zapier app. Each Zap reacts to one event, such as a Close opportunity entering a status or a QuoteCloud document being signed, and calls an action in the other app. You need QuoteCloud on Essentials or up and a Zapier account.

What can Zapier fill in on the QuoteCloud quote?

Create Document starts from a QuoteCloud template and fills data items and price-table rows at creation: label, note, price, quantity, term, tax and discount. It cannot tick options or choose content blocks. Set up the template with the right sections, and leave option choices to the customer.

How does Zapier find the right Close opportunity?

With a search step, such as Find Lead or Find Opportunities, using a value from the QuoteCloud trigger like the recipient's email. Test with real documents, because the match is only as good as the value you search on. One open opportunity per lead keeps it simple.

Can I use Document Paid instead of signing?

Yes. If you take a deposit through the QuoteCloud document, Document Part Paid or Document Paid can be the trigger instead, so the opportunity only moves to won once money arrives. Some businesses use signing to mark it won and payment to create the booking task.

What does creating quotes from Close cost?

API and Zapier access is on Essentials and up. Documents created through the API or Zapier carry a fee of US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 each, depending on volume. Zaps that only update Close after a QuoteCloud event don't create documents. You'll also need a Zapier plan that covers your Zaps.
