Solar and battery proposals priced by your own sizing sheet
Type in the bills, let your spreadsheet size the system, and its cells set the panels, inverter and battery lines the household chooses from, signs and pays a deposit on.

QuoteCloud is quoting and eSignature software for solar and battery retailers and installers. Your sizing calculator becomes a Spreadsheet block inside the proposal; any cell connects to a price line's description and unit price, and the price table total comes back into a cell for your payback estimate. Homeowners choose a battery, both sign, and pay a deposit.
A drawing of a single-storey house with 15 solar panels on its roof, a battery on the garage wall and an EV charger, from a fictional business, Tallowwood Solar & Storage. In front, the sizing sheet's System tab: cell B7 works out 15 panels with =ROUNDUP(B6*1000/B5,0), B11 works out 2 battery modules, and D19, the panels' price of $2,580, is connected to the proposal. The proposal card for Jess & Arlo Penhaligon shows the panels line, 15 × 440 W panels, with its description and unit price taken from the sheet, then takes turns through three choices: solar only, $5,632.00 with a 3.1-year payback estimate; with a 10 kWh battery, $14,575.00 and 5.3 years; and with the battery and an EV charger, $16,434.00 and 6.0 years. The payback is the installer's estimate, calculated from the price table total brought back into the sheet.

A demo with a fictional business: nothing is sent, stored or charged. In QuoteCloud the sheet is a Spreadsheet block you build once in your proposal template, with your own formulas, assumptions and rates, or import from your existing .xlsx. Any cell connects to a price line's description and unit price, and the price table total comes back into a cell. QuoteCloud runs the maths you set up: it doesn't design systems, model shading, or fetch tariffs, weather or rebates, and every generation, saving and payback figure is your estimate. The deposit is a percentage or fixed amount you set, paid through Stripe or PayPal on signing (Essentials and up).
From the power bill to a signed system in five steps
What happens between the first conversation and your office seeing a signed proposal with the deposit paid.
- 1
Type in the bills
Your consultant types the household's last four bills and evening use into the sheet in your proposal template.
- 2
The sheet sizes it
Your formulas work out panels, inverter and battery from your own assumptions and rates.
- 3
Cells price the lines
Connected cells set each line's description and unit price; any rebate or incentive is a line you enter.
- 4
They choose
The household picks a battery size and ticks the EV charger; the total and the payback estimate follow.
- 5
Both sign, deposit paid
Both homeowners sign online or on your tablet and pay the deposit through Stripe or PayPal.
Connect any cell to a price line, and bring the total back
Connect any cell to a price line's description and unit price, and bring a price table total back into a cell. In Tallowwood's sheet, row 19 writes "15 × 440 W panels" and its price into the panels line, the inverter comes from a lookup on the Rates tab, and the battery lines read the module count.
The link runs both ways: when the household picks a bigger battery or ticks the EV charger, the new total lands in Payback!B2 and the payback estimate recalculates. Quantities, optional items and choices stay on the price table as usual.

Questions in the document
Arlo's question about adding the charger later, and Nate's answer, sit in the comments beside the install notes.
Notes for your install
- We'll apply to your network for connection approval once you've signed; install dates follow approval.
- Your existing meter may need reconfiguring by your retailer; we'll let you know.
- The rebate line is our figure for this system where an incentive applies; it's taken off your price and we handle the claim.
APArlo PenhaligonIf we skip the EV charger now, can it go on the same circuit later?
TSNate CarrowYes: we've left room in the switchboard. It's a half-day job when you're ready.

Big systems and big discounts get a second look
Set approval rules on total value or on a discount percentage. Oskar's 49.3 kW winery proposal is over $40,000, so it waits In Review until Marguerite approves it, and only then goes to the two directors who sign.
Consultants keep selling at the kitchen table; a discount beyond your limit routes to a manager before the household sees it.

Solar quote questions, answered
What is QuoteCloud for solar and battery businesses?
QuoteCloud is quoting, proposal and eSignature software for solar retailers and installers, battery specialists, EV charger installers and commercial solar contractors. You send proposals from your own templates, with your sizing spreadsheet inside, panels, inverters and batteries as price lines, choices the household makes, both signatures and a deposit paid on signing.
Can my sizing spreadsheet set the prices in the proposal?
Yes. Build your calculator as a Spreadsheet block in your proposal template, or import your existing .xlsx. Any cell can be connected to a price line's description and unit price, so the panel count, inverter and battery size your formulas work out become the lines the household sees. Quantities, optional items and choices stay on the price table as usual.
Can the price table total feed back into the spreadsheet?
Yes. A price table total can be brought back into a spreadsheet cell, so a payback or return formula uses the price the household has actually chosen. When they pick a bigger battery or tick an EV charger, the total changes and your formula recalculates. The result is your estimate, labelled as such.
Which spreadsheet functions can I use?
The Spreadsheet block works like a full spreadsheet: formulas such as SUM, ROUND, ROUNDUP, MIN, MAX, IF and lookups against a table on another tab, several tabs with cross-tab references, number formats, merged cells, drag to fill and .xlsx import. It works with the figures in the sheet; it doesn't fetch tariffs, weather or irradiance data.
Does QuoteCloud calculate solar output, savings or payback?
No. QuoteCloud runs the formulas you build with the assumptions you type in, such as peak sun hours and a performance factor. It doesn't design systems, model shading or calculate yield on its own. Every generation, saving and payback figure is your estimate, so label it that way in the sheet and the proposal.
How do I show a rebate or incentive?
As a line you enter: for example a rebate or incentive discount for the amount you've worked out for the system, worded your way, tagged as your figure. QuoteCloud doesn't calculate, create or claim rebates or incentives and doesn't check eligibility; that stays with your business, under the programs that apply where you work.
Can both homeowners sign, and can they sign on my tablet?
Yes. A proposal can have several signers, each with a legally binding eSignature and no account needed. Your consultant can also hand over the tablet so each homeowner signs in person on your device. A certificate of authenticity and audit trail are attached to the signed proposal.
Can I take a deposit when the proposal is signed?
Yes, from the Essentials plan. Set a deposit as a percentage or a fixed amount, or ask for full payment, and the household pays through Stripe or PayPal as they sign. The balance is your own invoice: QuoteCloud doesn't offer finance, instalments or payment reminders.
Can a website enquiry create a solar proposal?
Yes. From the Essentials plan your website or its automation can create a proposal from your template through the QuoteCloud API, Zapier or Make, filling data items and adding price-table rows. It doesn't tick options or choose content blocks; those come from your template. API and Zapier documents carry a per-document fee.
Does QuoteCloud handle grid connection or compliance paperwork?
No. Network connection applications, compliance certificates and accreditation are your business's own. You can attach your datasheets, warranties and your own certificates as PDFs, and set out the steps to switch-on as a Gantt chart on the Business plan.
