Big and custom orders quoted in QuoteCloud, fulfilled in Shopify
Your Shopify store handles everyday checkout, but trade buyers and custom jobs need a proper quote they can review, tick options on and sign. Zapier links the two: a Shopify draft order can start a QuoteCloud quote, and a signed quote can become a draft order in Shopify for fulfilment.

What Shopify is
Shopify is an e-commerce platform for running an online store, with products, orders, customers and fulfilment in one place. QuoteCloud customers use it for standard online sales and use QuoteCloud for the volume, wholesale and made-to-order work that doesn't fit a cart.
Each one is a trigger in one app and the steps that follow in the other. Build them as they are, or change any step.

Turn a trade draft order into a signed volume quote
WhenShShopifyNew Draft Order
ThenQCQuoteCloudCreate Document
ThenQCQuoteCloudSend Document
A volume quote is created from your template with the draft order's lines as price-table rows and sent to the buyer, who reviews it, ticks any options and signs online.
Create a Shopify draft order once a custom print quote is signed
WhenQCQuoteCloudDocument Signing Complete
ThenShShopifyFind or Create Customer
ThenShShopifyCreate Draft Order
The customer is found or created in Shopify and a draft order is created with the signed quote's details, so production and dispatch work from the same order list as online sales.
Add new store products to the QuoteCloud product library
WhenShShopifyNew Product
ThenQCQuoteCloudFind or Create Product
Each new Shopify product is added to QuoteCloud's product library unless it is already there, so estimators can drop it into a quote at the current price.

Tanbark Trade Supply
Tanbark Trade Supply sells packaging and café supplies on its Shopify store, but opening orders for new trade accounts go through a quote. When Priti Desai saved a draft order for Bellmount Bakery's new Northgate shop, Zapier created the 'Opening stock for your Northgate bakery' volume quote with each carton line as a price-table row. Tomasz Wren checked the quantities, signed and paid on signing by card, and Tanbark opened his trade account the same day.
Morrowgate Print & Signs sells standard posters and labels through Shopify and quotes everything custom in QuoteCloud. When Marcus Vale from Fernhollow Tea Co. signed the reorder quote for shipper cartons, Zapier created a Shopify draft order under his customer record. Wes Tanaka's production team works from the Shopify order list, so the custom job sits beside the online orders instead of in a separate inbox.
Tessmore Engineering lists its standard brackets and fixings on a small Shopify store for repeat buyers. Every new product added there is copied into QuoteCloud's product library with Find or Create Product, so Callum Reid can add catalogue parts next to the custom machined lines in an RFQ response like the QR-220 sensor housing quote for Quenda Robotics. Prices for one-off parts are still set by the estimator.
Start a new Zap and sign in to QuoteCloud and your Shopify store. Zapier access to QuoteCloud is on the Essentials plan and up.
2
Pick the trigger
Choose Shopify's New Draft Order or New Product, or QuoteCloud's Document Signing Complete, and add a Zapier filter if only some orders or templates should run.
3
Map lines and customer details
For Create Document, pick your template and map the order's line items into price-table rows and the buyer into the recipient. For the Shopify side, map the signer and the agreed lines into Create Draft Order.
4
Test, then switch it on
Run a test with a sample draft order or a quote signed at an @example.com address, check both apps, and turn the Zap on.
QuoteCloud’s Zapier app and API are on the Essentials plan and up. Documents created through the API or Zapier carry a per-document fee of US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 by volume.
FAQ
QuoteCloud and Shopify: questions
Does it work both ways with Shopify?
No. Each Zap is a one-way automation that does a set job when its trigger fires. A draft order can create a quote, and a signed quote can create a draft order, but they are separate Zaps. Changing the draft order in Shopify won't change a sent quote, and stock levels and prices aren't kept matching between the two apps.
Is QuoteCloud a replacement for Shopify checkout?
No. QuoteCloud isn't a store and has no cart. It's for quotes and proposals that a buyer reviews, ticks options on and signs. It can take a deposit or full payment at signing through Stripe or PayPal. Everyday online orders stay in Shopify; QuoteCloud handles the orders that need a quote first.
If the buyer pays in QuoteCloud, is the Shopify order paid?
Not automatically. A payment taken at signing is recorded in QuoteCloud and your Stripe or PayPal account. Shopify offers a Mark Order as Paid action in Zapier, but whether to use it depends on how you reconcile payments, so check with whoever runs your books. Many teams create the draft order and mark it paid by hand after checking.
Can every line of a Shopify order become a price-table row?
Yes, when you map them. Create Document can fill price-table rows at creation with a label, note, price, quantity, term, tax and discount, so each line item can be one row. Zapier doesn't tick options or choose content blocks; optional extras in your template stay for the buyer to tick. Test with an order that has several lines first.
What does it cost?
Zapier access is on QuoteCloud's Essentials plan and up. Each document created through Zapier or the API carries a fee of US$2.00, falling to $1.80 and $1.60 at higher volumes. Zaps that create Shopify draft orders or QuoteCloud products don't create documents, so they carry no QuoteCloud fee. You also need a Zapier plan that covers your task volume.
