Getting started with QuoteCloud

Shop, bookings and extras your client ticks in the proposal

Put each feature and add-on in the proposal as an optional item, so clients choose before they sign and the total and deposit follow.

In QuoteCloud each website feature (an online shop, bookings, a second language, an integration) or add-on (copywriting, an extra revision round, launch SEO setup) is an optional item in the price table. The client ticks what they want while reading, the total and the deposit update, and they sign the version they chose.

A drawing of a fictional florist's future website beside the features panel of its proposal, GS-2611, from a fictional studio, Glasswing Studio. Three switches take turns: the online shop ($4,800 + tax), workshop bookings ($1,850 + tax) and a second language ($2,200 + tax). As each is switched on, its part of the page appears (product tiles, workshop dates with spaces left, an Italian language switch and subtitle) and the project fee and 40% deposit update. It ends with the shop and bookings on and the second language off: a project fee of $21,098.00 including tax and a deposit of $8,439.20.

Every feature and add-on, priced before the client decides

In Glasswing's proposal the shop, bookings, a second language and CMS training are optional items in a Features section, and copywriting, launch SEO setup and an extra revision round sit in their own Add-ons section. The ones Mia recommends are ticked by default.

Ella unticks, ticks and compares while she reads. The sitemap shows where each feature lives on the site, and the total and the 40% deposit follow every choice. Try it here.

What studios offer as options

Anything a client might add, leave out or come back to later works as an optional item with its own note and price.

  • Online shop

Products, cart and checkout, priced by the number of products or as one item.

  • Bookings

Classes, appointments or tables, with the booking calendar as one item.

  • A second language

Translated pages and a language switch, with the translation supplied by the client or by you.

  • Integrations

A newsletter sign-up, a CRM form or the client's accounting system, each as its own option.

  • Copywriting

Pages written by your copywriter, priced per page as a quantity.

  • Launch SEO setup

Titles, descriptions and redirects at launch. Ongoing SEO is a retainer.

  • Extra revision rounds

One more round on the designs, priced up front instead of argued about later.

  • A care plan

Hosting with your provider, updates and support as a monthly line.

One platform, chosen in the proposal

Some choices are one or the other. A single-choice group lets Ella pick WordPress with WooCommerce, Shopify, or a headless build, each with its price, and only one can be chosen.

The price for the website she has ticked stays above it, and the total and deposit follow the platform she picks. Choose one here.

  • Single-choice groups for one-or-the-other options
  • Included options shown as included
  • Her choice is in the version she signs

The extras arrive signed, not in an email thread

Ella added launch SEO setup while she read, then she and Luca signed and paid the deposit. What they chose is in the signed proposal, so the build starts from the same list Glasswing will invoice against.

Set up features and add-ons once

Five steps from your price list to proposals where the client chooses the extras.

  1. Add them to the catalogue

Each feature and add-on with its price, note and unit, from the Essentials plan.

  2. Group them

In your template, add a Features section and an Add-ons section and mark both optional.

  3. Tick the defaults

Tick what you recommend for most clients, so the starting total is the one you'd suggest.

  4. Make choices single

Put one-or-the-other options, like the platform, in a single-choice group.

  5. Send and let them choose

The client ticks, signs and pays the deposit on the total they chose.

Features and add-ons: your questions

How do I add optional items to a website proposal?

In the price table, put the features or add-ons in a section and mark it optional, or mark single lines optional. The client sees a tick box beside each one, and the totals and deposit update as they tick. You can tick the ones you recommend by default. Price tables are on the Essentials plan and up.

Can the client choose between two or three options?

Yes. A single-choice group lets the client pick one option from several, such as WordPress, Shopify or a headless build, and the total follows the one they pick. Multiple-choice groups work for add-ons they can combine.

Can an automation tick options for the client?

No. The API, Zapier and Make can create a proposal from a template, fill data and add price-table rows, but only the recipient ticks options. Set defaults in the template for the items most clients take.

Do I see which options the client chose?

Yes. The signed version records exactly what was ticked, with its totals and deposit, and you see when the proposal is opened and signed. The client can also ask about an option in a comment before deciding.

Does QuoteCloud take payments for my client's online shop?

No. QuoteCloud takes your deposit or full payment when your client signs your proposal, through your own Stripe or PayPal account. The shop you build for them uses its own payment gateway.
