Certificates of translation, in your own words
Your statement of accuracy, laid out once and locked, with the document details filled in and your translator's signature.

A certificate of translation is your agency's own statement. In QuoteCloud you design it once as a template, lock the statement wording (Business), fill in the document, languages, translator and reference for each job, and send it for your translator to sign. QuoteCloud adds a certificate of authenticity for the signature; it doesn't certify the translation.

An engineered axonometric drawing on a desk: the original German document as a short stack of pale sheets, the English translation as a taller stack beside it, and on top of the translation a fictional agency's certificate of translation lying flat. The certificate has a header band, its statement of accuracy outlined as a locked block, four rows of document details, the agency's own drawn seal and the translator's signature line. An orange route runs from the original to the translation to the signature line. A circular detail magnifies the seal and notes that it is Larkmoor's own seal, not an authority's stamp. Cards below show certificate LM-C-0521 for Marlowe & Finch LLP: a share purchase agreement of 18 pages, German to English, translator Elke Hartmann, moving from statement locked to details filled in to signed on Friday 6 November; and who provides what: the statement and the translator's signature are the agency's, QuoteCloud provides the locked template, online signing and a certificate of authenticity for the signature.

Your statement, locked once and signed every time
Larkmoor's certificate of translation is a QuoteCloud template. The statement of accuracy is a locked block, so the approved wording can't drift; the document, languages, pages, translator and client reference are filled in for each job.
Elke, the translator, signs it online. The signed certificate carries QuoteCloud's certificate of authenticity and audit trail, a record of who signed and when. The statement about the translation is Larkmoor's, and so is the judgement about what a receiving authority will accept.

What's yours, and what QuoteCloud adds
A certificate of translation is your agency's statement. QuoteCloud is how you lay it out, keep it consistent and get it signed.
Your agencyThe statement and everything it rests on
- The translationDone and checked by your linguists, in your own tools.
- The statement of accuracyYour wording, approved once by your managing director or quality manager.
- The translator and their credentialsWho translated it, their details and any credentials you state, all as your agency records them.
- What an authority acceptsWhether a receiving court, registry or institution accepts the certificate depends on its own requirements and your translator's credentials.
QuoteCloudThe template, the signing and the record
- A certificate templateYour layout, letterhead and seal, used for every certificate.
- Locked wordingThe statement as a locked block your project managers can't edit.Business
- Details per jobDocument, languages, pages and references as data items you fill in.Essentials and up
- Signing and its recordOnline signing, an optional one-time passcode by email, and a certificate of authenticity with an audit trail for the signature.
QuoteCloud never certifies a translation, checks a translator's credentials or tells you whether an authority will accept a certificate. Its certificate of authenticity records the signing, not the accuracy of the translation.
The quote that orders it, paid in full on signing
Marlowe & Finch need an 18-page share purchase agreement in English, proofread, with a signed certificate. Tobias sends a quote from Larkmoor's certified translation template: the translation per word, proofreading, the certificate itself, and options for a printed copy or express delivery.
Clara signs and pays the full amount through Stripe in one go, so the job starts without an invoice to chase. The certificate follows with the translation as its own signed document.
- Translation per word, proofreading and the certificate as lines
- Options the client ticks: printed copy, express
- Full payment on signing through Stripe or PayPal

Certificate of translation questions
Does QuoteCloud certify translations?
No. A certificate of translation is your agency's own statement about its translation. QuoteCloud gives you a template to lay it out, can lock the wording on the Business plan, and lets your translator sign it online. The certificate of authenticity QuoteCloud adds records the signature, not the translation.
Will a court or government office accept our certificate?
That depends on the receiving authority's requirements and your translator's credentials, not on the software used to sign it. Check what the authority asks for; QuoteCloud doesn't decide or guarantee acceptance.
How do we stop staff changing the certificate wording?
Put the statement in its own block in your certificate template and lock it. Content locking is on the Business plan; project managers can still fill in the document details in the unlocked parts.
Can the translator sign without printing anything?
Yes. Send the certificate to the translator to sign online, with no account needed. You can add an optional one-time passcode by email, and the signed document carries a certificate of authenticity and an audit trail.
Can the translated document go with the certificate?
Yes. Attach the translated PDF to the certificate with the Attachments block, on Essentials and up, so the client receives both together.
How do clients pay for a certified translation?
Send a quote first. Set payment on signing to the full amount, or a deposit, through Stripe or PayPal on Essentials and up. The client pays as they sign and you start the job.
