QuoteCloud connects to Salesforce two ways: the Salesforce Sync add-on on the Business plan, where reps start documents from an Opportunity and see their status on it, and QuoteCloud's Zapier app on Essentials and up, where Zaps create documents and update Opportunities. Documents created through Zapier or the API carry US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 each, by volume.

How do QuoteCloud and Salesforce connect?
How does QuoteCloud connect to Salesforce?
Two ways. The Salesforce Sync add-on, on the Business plan, connects your org with OAuth: reps start QuoteCloud documents from an Opportunity and their status comes back to it. QuoteCloud's Zapier app, on Essentials and up, runs Zaps you build between QuoteCloud and Salesforce events.
Should I use the Salesforce Sync add-on or Zapier?
Use the add-on when reps should start quotes from the Opportunity and see status there, on Business. Use Zapier when you're on Essentials, or for jobs the add-on doesn't do, such as Closed Won on signature, contacts and Tasks. Business includes Zapier, so you can use both.
Do I need a developer?
No. The Salesforce Sync add-on is connected from QuoteCloud with OAuth, with no code to write, and Zaps are built in Zapier by choosing a trigger, actions and the fields to map. Developers can use QuoteCloud's API instead, on the Essentials plan and up, and QuoteCloud's professional services team can help.
Does QuoteCloud keep Salesforce and QuoteCloud identical?
No. The Salesforce Sync add-on keeps documents started from an Opportunity linked to it and sends their status back. Each Zap moves only the moments it was built for, one way, from its trigger to its actions. Records aren't otherwise copied between Salesforce and QuoteCloud by themselves.
Can we use Make instead of Zapier with Salesforce?
Yes, as a bring-your-own setup. QuoteCloud has no ready-made app on Make: you connect Make to QuoteCloud with Make's built-in OAuth connection, then call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints from your scenario, beside Make's own Salesforce modules. The same jobs work, such as creating a quote when an Opportunity reaches a stage. API access is on Essentials and up. On Business, the Salesforce Sync add-on still works inside Salesforce alongside it.
The Salesforce Sync add-on
What does the Salesforce Sync add-on do?
It connects your Salesforce org from QuoteCloud with OAuth, lets reps start QuoteCloud documents from an Opportunity, keeps each document linked to that Opportunity and sends its status, such as delivered, first viewed and signed, back to it as it happens. It is on the Business plan.
Which Opportunity details fill the document?
The Opportunity's account and contact details fill the template's tokens, and QuoteCloud describes products filling it too. Check the exact fields your template uses when you set up the add-on with QuoteCloud. With a Zap instead, you choose and map every field yourself, as data items in the template.
Does the add-on move the Opportunity to Closed Won?
No. The add-on sends the document's status back to the linked Opportunity, such as signed. To change the stage when every signer has signed, add a Zap on QuoteCloud's Document Signing Complete trigger with Salesforce's Find Record and Update Record. Business includes Zapier access, so both run side by side.
Zaps with Salesforce
Which Salesforce events can start a Zap?
Salesforce's Zapier triggers include New Record, Updated Record, Updated Field on Record, New Contact, New Lead and New Outbound Message. Updated Field on Record, watching an Opportunity's Stage, is the usual start for a quote. Zapier notes it suits objects with fewer than 104,000 records.
Which QuoteCloud events can update Salesforce?
QuoteCloud's Zapier triggers include Recipient First Viewed Document, Recipient Signed Document, Document Signing Complete, Document Expired, Document Lost, Document Paid, Form Submitted on Document and New Contact Created. Each can run Salesforce actions such as Update Record, Create Record or Create Note.
How does a Zap find the right Opportunity?
With Salesforce's Find Record, searching the Opportunity object. The surest value is the Opportunity ID kept in a data item when a Zap created the document. Without it, search on the Opportunity Name used as the document title, and test with Opportunities whose names look alike.
Can the signed PDF be saved to Salesforce?
Yes, in the same Zap. QuoteCloud's Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link gives a short-lived link, so pass it straight to Salesforce's Create File, or to Google Drive's Upload File. Don't store the link itself in a Salesforce field: it stops working after a short time.
Plans and cost
Which QuoteCloud plan do I need?
It depends on the route. The Salesforce Sync add-on is on the Business plan, from US$59 per user per month. QuoteCloud's Zapier app is on the Essentials plan and up, from US$39 per user per month. Each plan includes everything below it, so Business includes Zapier access too.
Is there a fee per document?
Yes, for documents created through Zapier or the API: US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 each, by volume. Zaps that only update Salesforce, log views, match contacts or add Tasks create no documents and carry no QuoteCloud fee. Ask QuoteCloud how add-on documents are charged.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. QuoteCloud has a free 14-day trial with no credit card required, so you can build and test Zaps with sample records before choosing a plan. Book a demo to see the Salesforce Sync add-on, which is on the Business plan, with your own Opportunities.

- Create QuoteCloud documents from a Salesforce OpportunitySalesforce Sync add-on: reps start the quote from the Opportunity, and the document stays linked to it.
- See document status on the Salesforce OpportunitySalesforce Sync add-on: delivered, first viewed and signed come back to the linked Opportunity. Or build it with Zaps.
- Move the Opportunity to Closed Won on signatureZapier: when every signer has signed, a Zap updates the Opportunity's stage, amount and close date.
- Create quotes when an Opportunity changes stageZapier: an Opportunity reaches your quoting stage and a draft quote is created from your template, for teams without the add-on.
- Keep Salesforce and QuoteCloud contacts matchedZapier: new Salesforce contacts found or created in QuoteCloud, and new QuoteCloud contacts found or created in Salesforce with their account.
- Follow up expired and lost quotes in SalesforceZapier: an expired quote becomes a Task for the Opportunity owner; a lost one moves the Opportunity to Closed Lost.
- Set up the Salesforce Sync add-onBusiness plan: connect your Salesforce org with OAuth, start documents from Opportunities and see their status come back.
- Connect Salesforce to QuoteCloud through Zapier, step by stepSign in to both apps in Zapier, pick a trigger, map the fields, test with sample records and turn the Zap on.
- Salesforce to QuoteCloud field mapEvery field the Zaps on this site pass, which way it goes and where it lands.
- Test and troubleshoot the Salesforce connectionTest with sample records, then fix the usual problems: no Opportunity found, missing fields, echoes, expired PDF links.
