QuoteCloud and Google Sheets FAQ
How the connection works, what the Zaps do with rows and documents, how Google Sheets differs from the Spreadsheet block, and what it costs.

- Building QuoteCloud since 2013
QuoteCloud connects to Google Sheets through its Zapier app, on Essentials and up, or through Make as a bring-your-own setup. Zaps log document events as rows, keep a pipeline row current, create documents from rows with data items and price-table rows, and feed the product library from a price list. Only documents a Zap creates carry a fee.

How does the Google Sheets connection work?
How does QuoteCloud connect to Google Sheets?
Through QuoteCloud's Zapier app, with no code to write. Each Zap starts from one event, such as a new row in your sheet or a QuoteCloud document being signed, and runs steps in the other app. Teams that build their own can use Make instead, with QuoteCloud's API.
Is there a built-in Google Sheets integration?
No. Google Sheets connects through Zapier, with QuoteCloud's Zapier app on Essentials and up, or through Make as a bring-your-own setup. There's no ready-made QuoteCloud + Google Sheets template on Zapier: you build each Zap from the two apps' steps.
Can we use Make instead of Zapier?
Yes, as a bring-your-own setup. QuoteCloud has no ready-made app on Make: you connect Make to QuoteCloud with Make's built-in OAuth connection, then call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints from your scenario, beside Make's own Google Sheets modules. API access is on Essentials and up.
Does it work both ways?
Not as one link. Each Zap runs one way, from its trigger to its steps. A QuoteCloud event can add or update a row, and a new or changed row can create a document or a product, but those are separate Zaps. Editing a cell doesn't change a document that already exists.
Rows, logs and the pipeline
Can Google Sheets keep a log of every quote?
Yes. Build one small Zap per QuoteCloud event, such as Recipient First Viewed Document, Document Signing Complete, Document Part Paid and Document Expired, each running Google Sheets' Create Spreadsheet Row. Every event becomes a new row your formulas can report on.
Can one row per quote be kept up to date?
Yes. Document Created adds the row with Create Spreadsheet Row. Document Status Changed, set to a status, finds the row with Lookup Spreadsheet Row on the document number and changes its status with Update Spreadsheet Row.
Can the sheet show the quote's total?
Yes, when the trigger passes it. Zapier's help text on Document Status Changed says its output carries line items, totals and signer details. Check each trigger's test data before you map the Amount or Total column.
Quotes, price tables and products
Can a sheet row create a QuoteCloud document?
Yes. Google Sheets' New Spreadsheet Row starts the Zap and QuoteCloud's Create Document makes the document from your template, with the row's columns in the title, data items and price-table rows. Find or Create Contact and Add Document Recipient add the client.
Can many sheet rows become one price table?
Yes. Google Sheets' Lookup Spreadsheet Rows (Advanced) returns up to 500 matching rows as line items, and Create Document takes line items in its price-table row fields: label, notes, price, quantity, term, tax, discount and cost.
Can a Zap tick options or choose content blocks?
No. A Zap fills data items and adds price-table rows; it never ticks optional items, chooses packages or chooses content blocks. The template decides the content, and the client makes the choices in the document.
Can a price list in Google Sheets update QuoteCloud's products?
Yes, one product at a time. A Zap on New or Updated Spreadsheet Row finds the product with QuoteCloud's Find Product by SKU, then Create Product updates it, or creates a new product. Documents already created keep their prices.
Is Google Sheets the same as QuoteCloud's Spreadsheet block?
No. Google Sheets is your own spreadsheet outside QuoteCloud. The Spreadsheet block is a content block inside a document, on Essentials and up, with Google-Sheets-style formulas, tabs, .xlsx import and cells linked to price-table lines. Zapier can write values into its cells.
Plans and cost
Which QuoteCloud plan do I need?
Essentials or higher. QuoteCloud's Zapier app and API, custom data items, the product library and the Spreadsheet block are all on Essentials, from US$39 per user per month. None of the Zaps on this site needs Business.
What does each document a Zap creates cost?
Documents created through Zapier or the API carry a per-document fee of US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 by volume. QuoteCloud sets the volumes each rate applies at, so ask us for the tiers that match your use. A batch of 40 rows that creates 40 documents is 40 documents.
Do logging and price-list Zaps carry the fee?
No. Adding or updating rows in Google Sheets and creating or updating products in QuoteCloud don't create documents, so they carry no QuoteCloud fee. Each run still uses a task on your Zapier plan.
