Getting started with QuoteCloud

What QuoteCloud with OneDrive can and can't do

The Zaps file, name, share and keep QuoteCloud documents in OneDrive. Here's exactly what they do, where they stop, and the things we haven't confirmed yet.

QuoteCloud's Zapier app and OneDrive's own Zapier app can make client and job folders, upload signed, expired and lost PDFs, save form answers as text files and share folders with your team. Every Zap runs one way, from QuoteCloud into OneDrive. There's no direct OneDrive connection on any plan, and nothing comes back into documents.

What can the OneDrive Zaps do?

Six jobs, each one a Zap built with QuoteCloud's Zapier app on Essentials and up.

  • Client folders

New Contact Created, then Create Folder: a folder per client and a year or job subfolder.

    Client folders
  • Signed PDFs by client

Document Signing Complete, Find Folder, Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link and Upload File, in one Zap.

    Signed PDFs by client
  • Form answers

Form Submitted on Document, then Create Text File: the client's answers on file.

    Audit & compliance
  • Shared with the team

Create Folder, Upload File and Create Sharing Invitation, plus a Microsoft Teams message.

    Share with the team
  • Every signed version

Each signed revision uploaded under its own reference, beside the original.

    Versions & outcomes
  • Expired and lost

Document Expired or Document Lost, then Upload File into a Not proceeding folder.

    Keep every outcome

Zapier or Make: which route suits you?

Both reach the same QuoteCloud events and actions. The difference is how much you build yourself.

  • Zapier: QuoteCloud's Zapier app

Ready-made QuoteCloud triggers, actions and searches, such as Document Signing Complete and Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link, beside OneDrive's own Zapier app. Essentials and up.

    Connect it, step by step
  • Make: bring your own

Connect Make to QuoteCloud with Make's built-in OAuth, then call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints from a scenario, beside Make's own OneDrive modules. There's no ready-made QuoteCloud app on Make, so you design each step. API access is on Essentials and up.

    Make questions, answered

Where does it stop?

None of these are bugs. Knowing them up front saves an afternoon of testing.

  • Nothing moves without a Zap

There's no direct OneDrive connection on any plan: a file reaches OneDrive only when a Zap or a Make scenario puts it there.

  • One way, into OneDrive

The Zaps on this site write folders and files. Nothing in OneDrive changes a QuoteCloud document.

  • PDF links don't last

Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link is short-lived: upload the file in the same Zap, never store the link.

  • A Zap can't guess the folder

Find Folder searches by name, so folder names have to match the client's name in QuoteCloud.

  • Records stay with the document

The certificate of authenticity, audit trail and Document History stay in QuoteCloud. OneDrive holds your copy.

  • A Zap doesn't edit documents

It never ticks options, chooses content blocks or changes figures. Your team writes and sends; the client chooses and signs.

What we haven't confirmed yet

We only describe what we've checked. These are on our list to confirm, so test them before you rely on them:

  • Word files from OneDrive: QuoteCloud's eSignature page says you can upload, send and eSign PDFs, images and Word files. Whether a Word file is converted into a fully editable QuoteCloud document isn't confirmed, and there's no Zap for it on this site.
  • Images from OneDrive into a document: QuoteCloud's Zapier app has an Upsert Document Image action. Using a OneDrive file as its source hasn't been tested.
  • Which fields each QuoteCloud trigger passes, such as the client's name or the signed date: check Zapier's test data for your documents.
  • Whether the signed PDF fetched by the Zap includes the certificate of authenticity pages: open a test file to see what it holds.
  • Whether documents created from a Make scenario carry the per-document fee.

Questions about the limits

Is there a direct OneDrive integration?

No. QuoteCloud has no direct or native OneDrive connection on any plan. OneDrive connects through Zapier, with QuoteCloud's Zapier app on Essentials and up, or through Make as a bring-your-own setup with QuoteCloud's API. Every recipe on this site is a Zap you build.

Can a new file in OneDrive change a QuoteCloud document?

Not with the recipes on this site. They all run one way, from a QuoteCloud event into OneDrive. OneDrive's Zapier app has its own triggers, such as New File, but we haven't confirmed a way to put a OneDrive file into a QuoteCloud document with them.

Can I bring Word files from OneDrive into QuoteCloud?

You can upload them yourself. QuoteCloud's eSignature page says PDFs, images and Word files can be uploaded, sent and eSigned. Whether a Word file becomes a fully editable QuoteCloud document isn't confirmed, so test it with one of your own files first.

Can the Zap file every page of the signed document?

It files the PDF that Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link returns, uploaded in the same Zap. Open a test file to check what it holds. The certificate of authenticity and audit trail stay with the document in QuoteCloud either way.
