QuoteCloud connects to PayPal directly, on the Essentials plan and up. Add a PayPal button to a quote or proposal; once the client signs, they pay a deposit, the full amount or an instalment plan with PayPal on the same page, and the document is marked paid. PayPal charges its own fees.

How does the PayPal connection work?
How does QuoteCloud connect to PayPal?
Directly. You connect your PayPal account in QuoteCloud, then insert a PayPal button in a quote or proposal and set the pricing details. Once the client signs, they select the PayPal option and pay on the same page, usually in under a minute, and the document is marked paid.
Do I need Zapier to take PayPal payments?
No. Taking the payment runs on the direct connection. Zapier is optional, for what happens next outside QuoteCloud: QuoteCloud's Document Part Paid, Document Paid and Document Payment Event triggers can start Zaps in Slack, Google Sheets, Xero, QuickBooks Online and other apps.
Can I use PayPal and Stripe in QuoteCloud?
Yes. QuoteCloud Payments works with both: PayPal through the PayPal button, and card payments through Stripe. Whether one document can offer both isn't covered in the User Guide yet, so check it in your trial or in a demo.
Can each team use its own PayPal account?
We haven't confirmed this for PayPal. The User Guide documents payment settings per team for Stripe, so each team can connect its own Stripe account. Book a demo if your brands need separate PayPal accounts.
Deposits, instalments and reminders
Can clients pay a deposit with PayPal?
Yes. Request a part payment, as a percentage of the total or a fixed amount, and after signing the client can choose Pay deposit or Pay in full. Both amounts come from the document's price table, including options the client ticked.
Can clients pay in instalments?
Yes. When you add the PayPal button you can choose an instalment plan instead of a one-time payment. The User Guide doesn't yet describe how the number and timing of the payments are set, so check it in your trial or in a demo.
Does QuoteCloud send payment reminders?
Yes. QuoteCloud can send automated payment reminders. Their settings aren't in the User Guide yet, so book a demo to see how they're set up and when they're sent.
How do I see which documents have been paid?
On the dashboard. Click Show more in the Statuses list, then Paid, and the list shows every document that has been paid. Each payment is also recorded in the document's history.
Your clients and their PayPal
What can my clients pay with?
Whatever their PayPal account allows: a debit or credit card, PayPal Credit where it's available, and a PayPal balance or linked bank. PayPal decides which options each buyer sees in its checkout, including any pay-later options it offers.
Do clients share their card details with me?
No. Clients pay in PayPal's checkout, so their card and bank details stay with PayPal and aren't shared with you or with QuoteCloud. QuoteCloud doesn't store card details; it records that the document has been paid.
Can clients in other countries pay?
Yes, from their own PayPal account wherever PayPal works. PayPal lists 25 currencies it supports and converts between currencies at its own rate, including a spread or fee. Check which currencies your QuoteCloud account takes with PayPal before quoting in a client's currency.
Plans, fees and Zapier
Which plan do I need?
Essentials or higher. QuoteCloud Payments, which covers PayPal and Stripe, is on the Essentials, Business and Enterprise plans, not Free or Starter. You can try it in the free 14-day trial, with no credit card required.
What are the fees?
PayPal charges its own fee on each payment you receive, which varies by country, currency and account. QuoteCloud's per-document fee of US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 by volume applies only to documents created through Zapier or the API.
Can I build payment automations in Make instead of Zapier?
Yes, as a bring-your-own setup. QuoteCloud has no ready-made app on Make: you connect Make with its built-in OAuth connection and call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints from your scenario. API access is on Essentials and up.
