QuoteCloud connects to PayPal directly: you connect your PayPal account in QuoteCloud, on the Essentials plan and up, and add a PayPal button to a quote or proposal. Once the client signs, they pay a deposit, the full amount or an instalment plan with PayPal on the same page, and the document is marked paid.

Illustration with sample data: on the left the PayPal side of one payment, the deposit for Tidewell Pavilion's proposal TP-2802; on the right the QuoteCloud proposal, Sophie's 40th, $8,932.00 including tax; a thread joins them (Direct connection). Six steps play in turn: 1, Add the button: Elena adds a PayPal button to TP-2802 with a 20% deposit or pay in full, and sends it. 2, Sign and choose: Sophie signs on her phone and picks Pay deposit, $1,786.40. 3, Pay with PayPal: she pays in PayPal's checkout from her own PayPal account. 4, Marked paid: the deposit is recorded on the proposal in QuoteCloud. 5, Notify: a Zap on Document Part Paid tells the functions team in Slack or Microsoft Teams (Document Part Paid then Send Channel Message). 6, What if the quote expires instead: if Sophie never signs, the proposal shows Expired and no payment is asked for. It ends on the signed proposal with the deposit paid.

Who pays with PayPal?
PayPal suits buyers who would rather not type a card into one more website, and bigger purchases that are easier to say yes to in parts.
Families and individuals
Parents paying a term's tutoring, hosts paying a party deposit: they pay from the PayPal account they already use.
Clients who prefer PayPalBigger purchases
A home battery or a 4WD fit-out is easier to agree to when it's spread over an instalment plan.
Instalment plansDeposits that hold a date
Venues, workshops and installers take a deposit on signing, and the client can choose to pay in full instead.
Deposit or pay in fullClients abroad
Clients in other countries pay from their own PayPal account, and PayPal handles any currency conversion on its terms.

PayPal questions, answered
How does QuoteCloud connect to PayPal?
Directly. You connect your PayPal account in QuoteCloud, then insert a PayPal button in a quote or proposal and set the pricing details. After your client signs, they select the PayPal option and pay on the same page, and the document is marked paid. No Zap is needed to take the payment.
Can clients pay a deposit instead of the full amount?
Yes. You can request a part payment, set as a percentage of the total or a fixed amount, or the full amount. With a deposit, the client can choose Pay deposit or Pay in full after they sign. You choose the options when you add the PayPal button to the document.
Can clients pay in instalments with PayPal?
Yes. When you add the PayPal button you can choose an instalment plan instead of a one-time payment, so a bigger purchase is paid in parts. The user guide doesn't yet describe how the number and timing of payments are set, so check it in your trial or in a demo.
Which QuoteCloud plan do I need to take PayPal payments?
Essentials or higher. QuoteCloud Payments, which covers PayPal and Stripe, is on the Essentials, Business and Enterprise plans, not Free or Starter. PayPal charges its own fees on each payment, and they vary by country and currency.
Does QuoteCloud see my clients' card details?
No. The client pays in PayPal's checkout from their own PayPal account, so their card and bank details stay with PayPal. QuoteCloud doesn't store card details; it records that the document has been paid.
