QuoteCloud connects to ServiceM8 through QuoteCloud's Zapier app, on Essentials and up, or through Make as a bring-your-own setup. Zaps draft QuoteCloud proposals from ServiceM8 jobs and create the ServiceM8 job at Work Order when a quote is signed or the deposit is paid. They can't update a job that already exists.

How does the ServiceM8 connection work?
How does QuoteCloud connect to ServiceM8?
Through Zapier or Make. QuoteCloud's Zapier app, on Essentials and up, sits beside ServiceM8's own Zapier app: each Zap starts from one event, such as a ServiceM8 job being queued or a QuoteCloud quote being signed, and runs steps in the other app. Make is a bring-your-own setup with QuoteCloud's API.
Is there a direct ServiceM8 integration?
No. QuoteCloud has no direct ServiceM8 connection on any plan. Everything on this site is a Zap you build with QuoteCloud's and ServiceM8's Zapier apps, or a Make scenario you build with QuoteCloud's API.
Which ServiceM8 events and actions can Zapier use?
Triggers: New Job, Job Queued, Job Completed, New Client and New Form Response, which needs ServiceM8's Forms add-on. Actions: Create Job and Create Client. ServiceM8 has no search steps on Zapier, so a Zap can't look up an existing job or client.
Can we use Make instead of Zapier?
Yes, as a bring-your-own setup. QuoteCloud has no ready-made app on Make: you connect Make to QuoteCloud with Make's built-in OAuth connection, then call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints from your scenario, beside Make's ServiceM8 modules or ServiceM8's own API. API access is on Essentials and up.
Quoting in ServiceM8 and QuoteCloud
When should I quote in ServiceM8 rather than QuoteCloud?
For call-outs, repairs and fixed-price jobs priced from your ServiceM8 price list, where the quote belongs on the job and online acceptance updates it. Send a QuoteCloud proposal for jobs with real choices, photos and plans, several signers or a deposit paid in the document.
Can the client choose between good, better and best options?
Yes. A QuoteCloud template can hold options as a single choice that sets the price-table line, plus optional add-ons the client ticks. The totals and deposit follow their choices. A Zap never ticks options or chooses content blocks.
Can the tech finish the proposal on site?
Yes. The Zap drafts the proposal when the job is queued, and the tech adds job photos and a marked-up photo from their phone, checks the options and hands the client the phone to sign. The client doesn't need an account.
Is QuoteCloud for ServiceM8 or simPRO users?
Both connect to QuoteCloud through Zapier and Make. Small trade teams running jobs on their phones tend to use ServiceM8; larger contractors running projects often use simPRO. QuoteCloud's part is the same: options-based proposals, signatures and deposits.
What can the Zaps do?
Can a signed quote create a ServiceM8 job?
Yes. QuoteCloud's Document Signing Complete trigger fires once every signer has signed, and ServiceM8's Create Job creates the job at the status you choose, such as Work Order, with the customer, address, job contact and the quote's reference.
Can the Zap update the job the quote started from?
No. ServiceM8's Zapier app can only create jobs and clients. It can't change an existing job's status, add a note or attach a file. Teams create a new Work Order job, message the office to move the original one, or build the update in Make with ServiceM8's API.
Do the client's chosen option and the price lines reach ServiceM8?
Not as line items: Create Job has no line-item fields, and we haven't confirmed a QuoteCloud trigger carries the chosen option. The job gets a description and the quote's reference as the purchase order number, and the team opens the signed quote for the detail.
Can the signed PDF go on the ServiceM8 job?
Not through ServiceM8's Zapier app, which has no attachment action. A Zap can fetch the signed PDF with Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link and upload it straight away to a shared Google Drive folder. ServiceM8's API can attach files, from a Make scenario you build.
Plans, payments and cost
Which QuoteCloud plan do I need for ServiceM8?
Essentials or higher: Zapier and API access, custom data items and QuoteCloud Payments are on Essentials and up. The approval workflow for big quotes is on Business. eSignatures are on every plan.
Is there a per-document fee?
Yes, for documents created through Zapier or the API: US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 each by volume. Only the proposal Zap that drafts from a ServiceM8 job creates documents. Creating ServiceM8 jobs or clients carries no QuoteCloud fee.
Can clients pay a deposit when they sign?
Yes, on Essentials and up. Connect Stripe or PayPal, set the deposit on the document as a percentage or a fixed amount, and the client pays straight after signing. A Zap can create the ServiceM8 job once the deposit is paid.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. QuoteCloud has a free 14-day trial with no credit card required, so you can connect ServiceM8 through Zapier and test your Zaps with sample jobs before you choose a plan. Book a demo as well if you'd like to talk it through.
