Zapier & Make FAQ
Straight answers about automating QuoteCloud with Zapier, Make and the API, from plans and fees to triggers, price rows and who owns the Zaps.

QuoteCloud's Zapier app and API are on the Essentials plan and up; documents created through Zapier or the API cost US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 each by volume. Zapier has ready-made QuoteCloud steps; Make is a bring-your-own setup with Make's OAuth connection and QuoteCloud's API. A Zap fills data items and price rows but never ticks the client's options.

Zapier, Make and the API
Does QuoteCloud work with Zapier?
Yes. QuoteCloud has its own Zapier app with 21 triggers, 22 actions and 13 searches, on the Essentials plan and up. Other apps can create QuoteCloud documents, and QuoteCloud events such as a signature or a payment can run steps in thousands of other apps.
Does QuoteCloud work with Make (Make.com)?
Yes, as a bring-your-own setup. There's no ready-made QuoteCloud app on Make: you connect with Make's built-in OAuth connection and call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints from a scenario, beside Make's own modules for the other app.
Should I use Zapier or Make?
Zapier if a recipe fits and you want ready-made QuoteCloud steps with their fields listed. Make if your team already builds there and is comfortable designing each QuoteCloud call itself. Both use the same QuoteCloud account and plan.
Does QuoteCloud have an API?
Yes. QuoteCloud has a GraphQL/REST API on the Essentials plan and up, for in-house systems and volumes a Zap doesn't suit. Documents created through the API carry the same per-document fee as documents created through Zapier.
Can AI assistants work with QuoteCloud?
Yes, through QuoteCloud's MCP service, on the Essentials plan and up. MCP-enabled AI assistants can work with your QuoteCloud data, such as searching products and customers and drafting documents for you to check.
What can automation do in a document?
Can a Zap create a quote from a template?
Yes. QuoteCloud's Create Document action creates a document from the template you choose, sets its title and subtitle, fills its data items and adds the price-table rows you map. Add Document Recipient then adds the signer.
Can a Zap add line items to the price table?
Yes, the rows you map. Create Document takes a label, notes, quantity, price, term, tax, discount and cost for each row, into the price table named by its Table API Link Id, and can replace the template's rows first if you choose.
Can a Zap tick optional items or choose content blocks?
No. A Zap fills data items, adds rows and images, but never ticks optional items or packages and never chooses content blocks. The template decides the content and the client ticks the options they want.
Can a Zap add a logo or photo to a document?
Yes. Upsert Document Image copies an image file or link into a named image cell on a quote or template, using the API Link ID set in that image block's settings, with fit, focal point and zoom options.
Triggers, PDFs and payments
Which QuoteCloud event should start my Zap when a quote is signed?
Document Signing Complete, when the Zap should run once after every required signature. Recipient Signed Document fires once for each signer, which suits logging progress or chasing the signers still to sign.
How do I save signed PDFs to a drive or CRM?
In one Zap: Document Signing Complete, Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link, then the other app's upload or attach step straight away. The PDF link is short-lived, so it must be used in the same Zap.
Do I need Zapier to take payments?
No. Stripe and PayPal connect to QuoteCloud directly through QuoteCloud Payments, on Essentials and up, and the client pays inside the document. Document Paid, Document Part Paid and Document Payment Event can then start a Zap.
Do Xero and QuickBooks Online connect through Zapier?
Yes, through Zapier and Make only. A Zap can turn a signed QuoteCloud document into an invoice in Xero or QuickBooks Online, with the customer found or created first. There's no other kind of connection to them on any plan.
Plans, cost and ownership
Which plan do I need?
Essentials or higher. QuoteCloud's Zapier app, API and MCP service are on Essentials, Business and Enterprise. A few Zapier steps use Business features: the approval workflow, scheduled document send and the sales forecast.
Is there a fee per document?
Yes, for documents created through Zapier or the API: US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 each, by volume. Zaps that only react to events or update other apps carry no QuoteCloud fee, though they use tasks on your Zapier plan.
Whose account should the Zaps use?
One whose QuoteCloud role fits every Zap that uses it, in a company Zapier account. QuoteCloud's steps act as the connected user, so approvals are recorded as that user and ownership can only pass to teammates that user may assign.
