QuoteCloud and Zendesk Sell: questions answered
How the connection works, what the Zaps do with leads, deals and tasks, signing on site, Zendesk Support, and what it costs.

- Building QuoteCloud since 2013
QuoteCloud connects to Zendesk Sell through QuoteCloud's Zapier app, on Essentials and up, or through Make as a bring-your-own setup. Zaps draft quotes from deals and turn views, signatures and expiry into tasks, notes and stage changes. There's no direct connection or sync, and only documents a Zap creates carry a per-document fee.

How does the Zendesk Sell connection work?
How does QuoteCloud connect to Zendesk Sell?
Through Zapier, with QuoteCloud's Zapier app on the Essentials plan and up. Each Zap starts from one event, such as a deal entering a stage or a QuoteCloud document being signed, and runs steps in the other app. Teams that build their own can use Make instead, with QuoteCloud's API.
Is there a direct or native Zendesk Sell integration?
No. QuoteCloud has no direct or native Zendesk Sell connection on any plan. Everything on this site runs through Zapier, or through Make as a bring-your-own setup, so each job, such as drafting a quote or moving a deal to won, is a Zap you build and switch on.
Does it keep deals and quotes matching both ways?
No. Each Zap runs one way when its trigger fires. A deal can start a quote and a quote event can update the deal, but they're separate Zaps, and editing the deal after the quote is drafted doesn't change the quote. Revise the document in QuoteCloud when details change.
Can I use Make instead of Zapier with Zendesk Sell?
Yes, as a bring-your-own setup. QuoteCloud has no ready-made app on Make: you connect Make to QuoteCloud with Make's built-in OAuth connection, then call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints from your scenario, beside Make's own Zendesk Sell modules. API access is on Essentials and up.
Leads, deals and quotes
Can a Zendesk Sell deal create a QuoteCloud quote?
Yes, through a Zap. Deal Enters New Stage or New Deal starts it, and QuoteCloud's Create Document drafts the quote from your template, with the deal's name as the title and its details in data items. Add Document Recipient adds the deal's contact.
Can I quote a Zendesk Sell lead before it's a deal?
Yes. Zendesk Sell's New Lead trigger can start the same kind of Zap, with QuoteCloud's Find or Create Contact taking the lead's email and name. Many teams still quote from deals, so the deal's stage and value stay right in the pipeline.
Can the Zap add the deal's products to the price table?
No. Zendesk Sell's Zapier app has no search that returns a deal's products. Create Document can add price-table rows from values you map, and your template and product catalogue supply the rest. A Zap never ticks options or chooses content blocks.
Signing on site and tasks
Can the client sign on my tablet or phone?
On your device, yes: QuoteCloud's Sign Document In Person lets a recipient sign on the sender's device after you choose them and click Sign as. Clients can also sign online on their own desktop or mobile. eSignatures are on every QuoteCloud plan.
Will the Zendesk Sell deal move when the client signs on site?
Yes, if you build the Zap. Document Signing Complete fires once every signer has signed; Find Deal finds the deal and Update Deal moves it to your won stage. Test once with a quote signed in person before your reps rely on it.
Can quote views show up as tasks in Zendesk Sell?
Yes. A Zap on Recipient First Viewed Document can run Zendesk Sell's Create Task for the deal's owner, with a due date and an alert, and Update Deal can mark the deal hot. Document Expired can create a follow-up task the same way.
Zendesk Sell and Zendesk Support
What's the difference between Zendesk Sell and Zendesk Support here?
Zendesk Sell is where sales works leads and deals; Zendesk Support is the help desk where tickets live. They're separate Zapier apps. This site covers Sell, plus a hand-off Zap that opens a Support ticket when a quote is signed. Quoting from tickets has its own pages.
Can a signed quote open a Zendesk Support ticket?
Yes. Add Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link and Zendesk Support's Create Ticket to the signing Zap. The ticket gets the delivery team's group, an internal first comment and the signed PDF as its attachment, fetched in the same Zap because the link is short-lived.
Plans and cost
Which QuoteCloud plan do I need for Zendesk Sell?
Essentials or higher: QuoteCloud's Zapier app and API are on Essentials and up, from US$39 per user per month. The Business plan adds the approval workflow, scheduled document send and the sales forecast, but none of the Zaps on this site needs it.
Is there a per-document fee?
Yes, for documents created through Zapier or the API: US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 each by volume. Zaps that only write tasks, notes, stage changes or tickets don't create documents. QuoteCloud sets the volume tiers, so ask us which rate fits your volume.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. QuoteCloud has a free 14-day trial with no credit card required, so you can connect Zendesk Sell through Zapier and test your Zaps with sample deals before you choose a plan. Book a demo as well if you'd like to talk through your pipeline.
