Getting started with QuoteCloud

Zendesk and QuoteCloud integration FAQ

Straight answers about QuoteCloud with Zendesk: how it connects through Zapier or Make, what the Zaps can do with tickets, how to set them up and what it costs.

QuoteCloud connects to Zendesk through QuoteCloud's Zapier app, on Essentials and up, or through Make as a bring-your-own setup with QuoteCloud's API. Zaps draft quotes from tagged tickets and write views, comments and signatures back to the ticket as internal notes or public replies, with a new status, tags and the signed PDF.

How does the Zendesk connection work?

How does QuoteCloud connect to Zendesk?

Through Zapier, with QuoteCloud's Zapier app on the Essentials plan and up. Each Zap starts from one event, such as a tag added to a Zendesk ticket or a QuoteCloud document being signed, and runs steps in the other app. Teams that build their own can use Make instead, with QuoteCloud's API.

Is there a native Zendesk integration?

No. There's no Zendesk setting inside QuoteCloud and no two-way sync. Zendesk connects through Zapier, or through Make as a bring-your-own setup with QuoteCloud's API. Every recipe on this site is a Zap you build, one per job.

What do I need on the Zendesk side?

A Zendesk account, with an agent or admin login Zapier can use to see and update the tickets, and a Zapier plan for your task volume. Zapier notes that some Zendesk triggers need admin access, so connect with an account that has it if a trigger asks.

Can we use Make instead of Zapier?

Yes, as a bring-your-own setup. QuoteCloud has no ready-made app on Make: you connect Make to QuoteCloud with Make's built-in OAuth connection, then call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints from a scenario, beside Make's own Zendesk modules. API access is on Essentials and up.

Is this the Zendesk Sell integration?

No. This site covers Zendesk's help desk: tickets, requesters and agents. Zendesk Sell is Zendesk's CRM, with deals and a pipeline, and has its own QuoteCloud recipes. Both connect through Zapier or Make.

Tickets, notes and replies

Can a Zendesk ticket start a QuoteCloud quote?

Yes, with a Zap. Zendesk's New Tag Added to Ticket or New Ticket in View starts it, and QuoteCloud's Create Document drafts the quote from your template with the ticket's details in data items. The agent checks it and sends it, or a Send Document step sends it straight away.

Can QuoteCloud updates be internal notes?

Yes. Zendesk's Add Comment to Ticket, Update Ticket and Attach File to Ticket on Zapier each have a field that sets whether the comment is public. Set it to No for an internal note only agents see, or Yes for a reply the requester sees. You choose per step.

Can a signed quote solve the ticket?

Yes. Start a Zap with QuoteCloud's Document Signing Complete, find the ticket, then use Zendesk's Update Ticket with New status set to Solved. The same step can add a public reply, and Attach File to Ticket can add the signed PDF.

How does a Zap find the right ticket?

With the ticket ID kept in a data item, when the quote Zap filled it and your trigger's test data shows it. Otherwise Zendesk's Find Tickets searches with something both apps know, such as the requester's email and a tag your agents add when they send a quote.

Quotes, options and signatures

Can the Zap add products and options to the quote?

Partly. Create Document can fill data items and add price-table rows with a label, note, price and quantity you map. It doesn't tick options or choose content blocks: optional extras in your template stay there for the customer to tick.

Are eSignatures and tracking included?

Yes. Every QuoteCloud plan includes legally binding eSignatures, and your customer can view and sign on any device. QuoteCloud records when a document is sent, first viewed, commented on and signed, and Zaps can pass those events to the ticket.

Can customers comment on the quote?

Yes. Customers can comment right on a QuoteCloud document, and QuoteCloud's Document Comment Event can start a Zap that adds the comment to their Zendesk ticket as an internal note and reopens it.

Plans and cost

Which QuoteCloud plan do I need?

Essentials or higher: QuoteCloud's Zapier app and API are on Essentials and up, as are custom data items and the product library. None of the recipes on this site needs the Business plan.

What does the per-document fee cover?

Each document created through Zapier or the API carries a fee of US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 by volume. Zaps that only write notes, replies, statuses, tags, files or new tickets in Zendesk don't create documents, so they carry no QuoteCloud fee.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. QuoteCloud has a free 14-day trial with no credit card required, so you can connect Zendesk through Zapier and test your Zaps on test tickets before you choose a plan.
