SEO proposals that commit to the work, not to rankings
The audit paid on signing, the monthly work as charges in the agreement and your expected results set out as your own estimate.

- Building QuoteCloud since 2013
With QuoteCloud an SEO specialist sends a proposal from its own template: a one-off audit in the price table, paid on signing, then technical fixes, content, local listings and link building as monthly repeating charges shown in the agreement, with a term and an expiry date. What you expect to deliver is set out as your estimate; QuoteCloud never promises rankings and doesn't bill the retainer.
A sample SEO proposal, GS-S-0418, from a fictional studio, Glasswing Studio, for Pinewood Physio, shown as the work it commits to. On day one the SEO audit, $1,595.00 including tax, is stamped Paid on signing. Below, under an Our estimate tag, six month columns from November to April fill one by one with the same four blocks of work: technical fixes, two articles, local listings and link outreach. The footer shows $1,850 a month plus tax for six months, invoiced by Glasswing, and a quiet line: search engines decide rankings. There are no charts, rankings or traffic figures.

The audit paid on signing, the monthly work in the agreement
Tess's proposal for Pinewood Physio starts with a one-off audit in the price table, paid in full when Dr Liang signs. The next six months of technical fixes, articles, local listings and link building are repeating charges shown in the same agreement, at $1,850 a month plus tax.
What Tess expects to deliver (12 articles, the high-priority fixes, 25 search terms worked on, six reports) is set out as the studio's own estimate, beside a plain note that search engines decide rankings. Glasswing invoices each month; QuoteCloud doesn't bill the retainer.
- One-off audit paid on signing
- Monthly work as repeating charges with a term
- Deliverables tagged as your estimate, never a ranking promise

An audit only, paid in full on signing
For a client who has a developer and wants the list: a technical audit and a walkthrough call, with a content review they can tick. Nothing repeats, and if they want the fixes made, that's a separate quote.
- Paid in full on signing
- An optional content review to tick
- No retainer, nothing repeating

How Glasswing writes every SEO proposal
We sell the work, not the ranking
Clients who've been burnt by guarantees want to know exactly what they're paying for each month. Put the work in the agreement, your estimate beside it, and leave the rankings to the search engines.

SEO proposals: your questions
What should an SEO proposal include?
The audit or starting point, the work you'll do each month, the term and price, what you expect to deliver as your own estimate, how you'll report, what isn't included and a clear statement that rankings aren't guaranteed. In QuoteCloud each is a block in your SEO template, with the audit and monthly charges in the price table.
Can I take payment for the SEO audit when the client signs?
Yes, from the Essentials plan. Put the audit in the price table and set the payment on signing to 100%, or take a deposit as a percentage or a fixed amount. The client pays through your connected Stripe or PayPal account straight after signing.
Does QuoteCloud bill the monthly SEO retainer?
No. The monthly work is shown in the agreement as repeating charges with a term, so the client agrees to it when they sign. You invoice each month from your accounting system. QuoteCloud doesn't charge recurring payments, take instalments or send reminders.
Will QuoteCloud show my client's rankings or traffic?
No. QuoteCloud has no analytics, Search Console or rank-tracking features, and it never guarantees rankings or traffic. Your proposal can set out the work and what you expect to deliver as your own estimate; your reports come from your own SEO tools.
How do I renew SEO retainers?
Give each agreement an expiry date. The Expiring Soon filter shows which retainers end soon, and you can bulk-send your retainer template as a personal copy to each client (Essentials and up, volume-based costs). Each client signs a new agreement: nothing renews automatically.
