Getting started with QuoteCloud

Managed security proposals priced per endpoint

Endpoints and users × the tier the client picks, on a 12, 24 or 36-month term, with onboarding paid on signing and the renewal on your list in time.

QuoteCloud lets an MSSP send a managed security proposal priced per endpoint and per user: service tiers as one choice, counts the client can adjust, monthly and once-off charges on a term, both partners signing, and onboarding paid on signing. Expiry dates put every agreement on the Expiring Soon list before it ends.

Two views of a sample managed security proposal from a fictional firm, Northlatch Security, for Quenby & Hart Lawyers. Behind: the services table on a 24-month term, with Detect & respond for 64 endpoints at $11 per endpoint a month, email and sign-in monitoring for 58 users, four servers and two cloud tenants, onboarding and a baseline scan once-off, and phishing simulation ticked as an option: $1,562 a month, $4,650 once-off and $42,138 over the term, with $2,325 paid on signing. In front: the firm's QuoteCloud documents list on the Expiring Soon filter, showing four managed security agreements that expire in the next 60 days, from 12 to 49 days away, with renewals sent, opened or in draft.

Tier × endpoints × term, priced in front of the client

Northlatch's proposal for Quenby & Hart puts its three tiers side by side, priced per endpoint per month. The partners choose one, and the managed detection line in the services table takes its name and rate.

Endpoint and user counts have steppers, so a firm that's hiring can price next quarter's laptops now. Servers, cloud tenants, onboarding and two options sit on the same page, and the 12, 24 or 36-month switch moves the total contract value. Detect & respond for 64 endpoints with phishing simulation comes to $1,562 a month and $42,138 over 24 months, ex tax.

  • Monthly and once-off rows in one table

A renewal runway, from 90 days out

How an MSSP can work its renewals in QuoteCloud. Your team sets the timing; QuoteCloud gives you the expiry dates, the documents and the signatures.

  1. 90 days

    See which agreements end next

Every signed agreement carries its expiry date. The Expiring Soon filter lists the ones ending first, so the account manager starts there.

Expiring Soon filter Essentials and up
  2. 60 days

    Re-count the estate

Ask the client's IT lead for this year's endpoint, user and server counts. Estates grow, and the renewal should price what's really there.

    Send the renewal proposal

Start from your renewal template with the new counts, the tier they're on and the one above it. It's a new or revised document, sent by your team.

    Signed on the new term

Both partners sign online before the old agreement ends, and onboarding for anything new is paid on signing.

    eSignatures

Nothing renews, reminds or bills by itself: the expiry dates and the filter show what's due, your team sends the renewal, and your firm invoices the monthly charges.

Both partners sign, and the end date is in writing

The agreement's terms sit in the proposal: what's covered, how added endpoints are handled (a signed variation), that Northlatch invoices the monthly charges in advance, and the date the agreement ends. Nothing in it renews by itself.

Helena Quenby and Owen Hart each sign online, with no account needed, and the onboarding payment of $2,325 goes through Stripe when they sign. Every signature is recorded in the audit trail, and the signed agreement carries a certificate of authenticity.

  • Several signers on one agreement
  • Payment on signing through Stripe or PayPal
  • An expiry date on every agreement

What goes into an MSSP proposal template

Set it up once, and every account manager quotes the same tiers, rates and terms.

  • Your tiers, defined once

Monitor, Detect & respond, Managed SOC: what each includes, the note under it and the rate per endpoint, set in the template.

  • SKUs in the product library

Per-endpoint, per-user, per-server and once-off items with SKUs and costs. Costs and margins stay hidden from the client (Product Library: Essentials and up).

  • Locked service description

Lock the service description and the terms so account managers can use them but not edit them in a proposal (content locking, Business).

  • Tracking on every proposal

See when a proposal is opened and how long it's read; the dashboard shows Sent, Opened, Signing and Accepted.

  • Approval on big discounts

A proposal whose discount or total value passes your threshold goes to an approver before it can be sent (approval workflow, Business).

  • Then the monthly report

Once the service is live, each month's report goes out from QuoteCloud too: see monthly managed security reports.

Priced over the term, not just the month

Detect & respond for 64 endpoints, 58 users, four servers and two cloud tenants, with phishing simulation, on a 24-month term: $1,562 a month plus $4,650 once-off. The partners see the whole contract before they sign.

From an estate count to a signed agreement

The managed security sale, from the discovery call to onboarding paid.

  1. Count the estate

Endpoints, users, servers and cloud tenants, from the client's IT lead or your discovery call.

  2. Start from your template

Tiers, SKUs and terms are already in it; enter the counts on the lines.

  3. Send and track

The proposal goes out by email, and tracking shows when it's opened.

  4. The client chooses

They pick the tier and term, adjust the counts and tick the options they want.

  5. Signed, onboarding paid

Both partners sign, and half the once-off is paid through Stripe or PayPal on signing.

Questions about managed security proposals

Can I price managed security per endpoint in QuoteCloud?

Yes. Put each service on a repeating price line with a monthly price per endpoint, user or server, and turn on quantity editing so the client can adjust the counts. Service tiers can be one single-choice group. The table totals the monthly, once-off and total contract value. Price tables are on Essentials and up.

Does QuoteCloud bill our monthly managed service charges?

No. The monthly charges are shown in the agreement for the term, and your firm invoices them as it does today. QuoteCloud can take one payment when the client signs, such as onboarding or a deposit, through Stripe or PayPal. It doesn't run recurring billing.

Do managed security agreements renew automatically?

No. Each agreement has an expiry date, and the Expiring Soon filter lists the agreements ending soon so your team can send a renewal in time. The renewal is a new or revised document that the client reviews and signs.

Can the client choose a 12, 24 or 36-month term?

Yes, if you turn on term editing for the repeating lines. The client switches between the terms you offer, and the total contract value updates before they sign. You decide which terms are offered and what each one costs.

Does QuoteCloud monitor endpoints or measure our service levels?

No. Response times and service levels are your own wording in the agreement, and monitoring is done by your own platform and team. QuoteCloud prepares, sends and records the proposal, its signatures and the payment on signing.
