Create QuoteCloud documents from a Salesforce Opportunity
With the Salesforce Sync add-on, the rep starts the quote where the deal already lives. The template fills with the Opportunity's details, and the document stays linked to that Opportunity.

Use the Salesforce Sync add-on on QuoteCloud's Business plan. The rep starts the QuoteCloud document from the Opportunity inside Salesforce, the template fills with the Opportunity's account and contact details, and the document stays linked to that Opportunity, so its status comes back to it. Teams on Essentials can create documents from Opportunities with a Zap instead.

Two overlapping panels with sample data. Behind, Plinthwork's draft order form PW-2388 for Mossbank Health Partners: template tokens filled from the Opportunity (Opportunity name, account, contact Dana Whitcombe, prepared by Theo Marchetti) and a price table of 40 Growth plan seats, onboarding and training, with priority support left for Dana to tick. In front, an illustration of the Opportunity's QuoteCloud panel: a New QuoteCloud document action and the draft PW-2388 linked to it.

Linked documents, status from Salesforce Sync
Illustration with sample data: a generic CRM record, not Salesforce’s screen.
The deal is in Salesforce. The quote should start there too.
Plinthwork sells maintenance planning software, and every deal lives on a Salesforce Opportunity. When Mossbank Health Partners asked for 40 more seats for two new sites, account executive Theo Marchetti already had the account, the contact and the amount on the Opportunity. Copying them into a quote by hand is slow, and it's where the typos come from.
With the Salesforce Sync add-on, Theo starts the order form from the Opportunity. The template fills with Mossbank's details, the document is linked to the Opportunity, and every status change after that comes back to it.
- Route: the Salesforce Sync add-on, on QuoteCloud's Business plan.
- The template decides the content, the price table and the options; the Opportunity fills the details.
- The link stays, so delivered, first viewed and signed show on the Opportunity.

The buyer's choices stay with the buyer
The draft carries everything in Plinthwork's template: the seats, onboarding and training, and priority support as an optional line Dana can tick before she signs. The add-on fills the details; it never ticks options or picks content for the buyer.
Dana and Mossbank's CFO, Eamon Kerr, both sign. The total updates as Dana ticks, and what they sign is what comes back to the Opportunity as signed.

What else comes with Business
Salesforce Sync is on the Business plan, with the features enterprise quoting usually needs next.
Approval Workflow
A discount past the limit you set goes for internal sign-off before the quote reaches the buyer. Business plan.
CPQ softwareScheduled Document Send
Prepare the quote now and send it at the time you choose. Business plan.
Zapier as well
Business includes Zapier access, so Zaps can do what the add-on doesn't, such as Closed Won on signature.

Not on Business? A Zap can do part of it
QuoteCloud's Zapier app, on Essentials and up, can create the draft when the Opportunity reaches a stage. It runs by itself; nothing happens inside Salesforce.

A draft from your template, filled with the Opportunity's details. It isn't linked by the add-on, so later Zaps find the Opportunity by the ID kept in a data item.

Questions about documents from Opportunities
Can reps create a QuoteCloud quote without leaving Salesforce?
Yes, they can start it there. With the Salesforce Sync add-on, the rep starts the QuoteCloud document from the Opportunity inside Salesforce. The document is built from your QuoteCloud template and stays linked to the Opportunity, so its status comes back to it as the buyer opens and signs.
Which Opportunity details fill the QuoteCloud document?
The Opportunity's account and contact details fill the template's tokens, and QuoteCloud describes products filling it too. Check the exact fields your template uses when you set up the add-on. With a Zap instead, you choose and map every field yourself, as data items.
Which QuoteCloud plan includes the Salesforce Sync add-on?
The Business plan. Business also includes Approval Workflow, Scheduled Document Send, the Sales Forecast and Zapier access, so a team on Business can use the add-on for documents from Opportunities and Zaps for other jobs. Book a demo to add Salesforce Sync to your account.
Can I create documents from Opportunities without the add-on?
Yes, through Zapier on Essentials and up. Salesforce's Updated Field on Record trigger can start a Zap when an Opportunity reaches a stage, and QuoteCloud's Create Document makes a draft from your template. Documents created through Zapier carry a per-document fee of US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 by volume.
