Ask your assistant about your pipeline
Opened but not signed, expiring this week, waiting on a client: questions your AI assistant can be set up to answer from QuoteCloud, in a sentence.
- 5/5 on G2

- Building QuoteCloud since 2013
Connected through QuoteCloud's MCP service (Essentials and up), an AI assistant can be set up to read your documents' status and answer questions such as which quotes were opened but not signed or what expires this week. It's a read-only job: the assistant answers, and your team decides who to follow up and how.

Illustration with a fictional business: Freya at Harrowfield Fire & Security asks her AI assistant which quotes have been opened but not signed. It answers with three: sprinkler head replacements for Ellery Court, opened Thu 29 Oct, $2,318.50; defect rectification for Larchmont House, opened 3 times, $4,862.00; and a CCTV upgrade for Westbrook Medical, opened 5 times, $11,940.00.

The questions that come up every Monday
Which quotes did clients open last week? Which ones are about to expire? What's still waiting on a signature? QuoteCloud already tracks opens, reading time and expiry dates; the answers are there, one dashboard and a few filters away.
If your team already works in an AI assistant all day, asking it is quicker. Connected through QuoteCloud's MCP service, it can be set up to read your documents' status and answer in a sentence, with the references so you can open the document in QuoteCloud.
- A read-only job: QuoteCloud's guidance says an assistant that helps find documents may need read access and no write access at all
- The answer points back to the document in QuoteCloud
- Your team decides what to do next
Which quotes were opened but not signed?
Freya runs fire services at Harrowfield. On Monday morning she asks her assistant which quotes have been opened but not signed, and then whether any expire this week.
Set up to read document status, the assistant answers with the three quotes, how often each was opened and the one that expires on Friday. It offers to draft a follow-up email; Freya decides whether to send one, and sends it herself.
- Status, opens and expiry, as QuoteCloud tracks them
- References you can open straight in QuoteCloud
- A follow-up drafted for a person to send, never sent by the assistant

HF-D-4471 for Larchmont House expires on Fri 6 Nov. Simone Achebe opened it three times. Want me to draft a short follow-up email for you to send?

The same answer, in QuoteCloud
The assistant doesn't keep its own copy of your pipeline: it reads what QuoteCloud already knows. The same three quotes are in QuoteCloud's documents list, with the same opens and the same expiry date.
That's useful when you check an answer. If the chat and QuoteCloud ever disagree, QuoteCloud is the record.

Questions teams ask
Examples. What your assistant can answer depends on what your MCP connection lets it read.
"What's been opened but not signed?"
The quotes clients are reading, most recent first, with how often each was opened.
"What expires this week?"
Quotes and agreements near their expiry date, the same list as QuoteCloud's Expiring Soon filter.
"Is the Larchmont quote signed yet?"
One document's status by client or reference, without opening the dashboard.
"What's waiting on signature this month?"
Sent quotes still out, with their values, so you know what's in play.
"When did we send it?"
Sent, opened and signed dates for a document you name.
"Draft me a follow-up"
A short email for you to read, change and send yourself.

How to set up status questions
The simplest MCP job to start with, because it only reads.

MCP is on QuoteCloud's Essentials plan and up. See cost.
- 2
Keep statuses meaningful
Set expiry dates on quotes and mark lost ones, so the answers mean something.
- 3
Connect for reading
Talk to our team about connecting your assistant, and give this job read access only. See set-up and access.
- 4
Ask, then open
Ask in a sentence and open the documents it names in QuoteCloud before acting.
Status questions, answered
Can an AI assistant tell me which quotes were opened but not signed?
It can be set up to. QuoteCloud tracks when documents are opened and signed, and through QuoteCloud's MCP service (Essentials and up) an assistant can be given access to read that and answer in a sentence. What it can see depends on how your connection is set up.
Does the assistant need permission to change anything for this?
No. Answering status questions is a read-only job, and QuoteCloud's guidance is that an assistant helping people find documents may need read access and no write access at all. Give it only what the job needs.
Will the assistant chase clients for me?
No. It can draft a follow-up email if you ask, but a person reads, changes and sends it. Deciding who to follow up and how stays with your team.
What if the assistant's answer is wrong?
QuoteCloud is the record. Each answer should name the documents, so open them in QuoteCloud and check before acting. AI assistants can make mistakes, so treat an answer as a pointer, not a report.
