Getting started with QuoteCloud

QuoteCloud MCP questions, answered

What MCP is, what an assistant can be set up to do, how it connects, how people stay in charge and what it costs.

QuoteCloud's MCP service, on the Essentials plan and up, lets an AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol work with your QuoteCloud account. It can be set up to draft quotes from your templates and product library, find documents and answer status questions, while a person reviews and sends every document.

What is it?

What is MCP?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is a standard way for AI applications to connect to external tools and data sources. Instead of building a different integration for every AI system, a business exposes selected capabilities once and compatible AI assistants can use them.

What is QuoteCloud's MCP service?

It's QuoteCloud's side of that connection. It lets an AI assistant that supports MCP work with your QuoteCloud account, so it can be set up to draft quotes, find documents and answer questions about them, depending on how the connection is set up.

Which AI assistants work with QuoteCloud?

Assistants that support the Model Context Protocol. We don't list tested assistants on this site, so book a demo to check the one your team uses. Because MCP is a standard, you can change assistants later without rebuilding QuoteCloud's side.

How is MCP different from AI Co-Worker?

AI Co-Worker (Business plan) works inside the QuoteCloud editor on the document you have open, and its content stays flagged until someone accepts it. MCP (Essentials and up) connects the AI assistant your team already uses to your QuoteCloud account from outside.

What can an assistant do?

What can an AI assistant do in QuoteCloud through MCP?

It depends on how the connection is set up. QuoteCloud's guidance describes an MCP service that can retrieve proposal data, access approved content, locate products and start defined document actions. On this site that means drafting quotes from emails and notes, answering status questions and finding documents.

Can it write a quote from an email?

It can be set up to. Paste the email into your assistant and ask for a draft: it can find the client, start from your template and add lines from your product library at your prices. The draft waits in QuoteCloud for a person to check and send.

Can it edit a document that's already been sent?

We don't document that for MCP. On this site the assistant finds documents and starts new drafts; a person opens an existing document in QuoteCloud and changes it there. Talk to our team if your workflow needs more.

Does the assistant invent prices?

It shouldn't, and connecting it to QuoteCloud is how you avoid that. QuoteCloud's guidance is that the AI shouldn't invent commercial logic: prices come from your product library, and anything new is priced by the person reviewing the draft.

Set-up and safety

How do I connect my assistant?

Check you're on the Essentials plan or higher, decide what the assistant should read and do for one job, then book a demo and ask the QuoteCloud team how to connect it to your account. The connection method isn't documented on this site.

Can the AI send quotes or approve discounts?

We recommend not giving it those jobs. QuoteCloud's guidance asks whether an assistant should create a proposal but not send it, or suggest pricing but not approve a discount. Every example here prepares drafts for a person to check and send.

Is my data secure?

QuoteCloud uses 256-bit encryption and is hosted on AWS. What the assistant can reach is decided when you set up the connection, so give it the least one job needs. The assistant itself is run by its provider, so check its data terms with them.

Plans and cost

Which plan includes MCP?

The Essentials plan and up, from US$39 per user per month, alongside the API, Zapier and Make. AI Co-Worker and approval workflow are on Business, US$59 per user per month.

Is there a fee for documents an assistant creates?

We don't state one for MCP on this site. Documents created through Zapier or the API carry US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 each by volume. Ask our team how documents your assistant creates through MCP are counted.

Can QuoteCloud help us implement it?

Yes. Book a demo to talk through your workflow. The QuoteCloud team also offers professional services such as template conversion, integrations and training to get your account ready.
