How do I connect Stripe to QuoteCloud?
Seven steps, from the user guide. The first five are once per team; the last two once per template.
- 1
Open Settings
Click your profile icon and choose Settings.
- 2
Go to Teams
Under Users & Roles, click Teams.
- 3
Edit your team
Click Edit beside the team whose documents will take payments.
- 4
Open Payment Settings
Choose the Payment Settings tab in the team's settings.
- 5
Continue Onboarding
Click Continue Onboarding and complete Stripe's set-up to connect your Stripe account.
- 6
Set the payment
Edit a template or document and click the $ (Payments) icon: description, instructions, amount, discount.
- 7
Send and check
Send it. When your client signs and pays, the document is marked Paid on your dashboard.
Steps 1 to 5: the team's Payment Settings
Stripe is connected per team, not per user. Larkspur's Design & build team is already connected; its Garden care team hasn't started, so its Payment Settings tab offers Continue Onboarding.
Continue Onboarding opens Stripe's own set-up. When it's done, the same tab shows Stripe connected, with Open Stripe Dashboard and Disconnect.
- Several brands or business units? Give each a team and its own Stripe account.
- Stripe's onboarding is Stripe's: it asks for the details Stripe needs in your country.

Step 6: the $ Payments panel
While editing, the $ icon opens the payment for that document: a description your client sees, your instructions, the amount as a percentage or a fixed figure, and an optional discount.
Do it on the template and every document made from it carries the same payment. Change it on one document when that client needs something different.

Step 7: send it, and check it end to end
Before your first client, send a document to yourself with a small amount, sign it and pay with your own card, then refund it from your Stripe Dashboard. You'll see exactly what your client sees, and the document turn Paid.
Check the amount follows the price table: tick an optional item and the payment should move with the total.

Connect Stripe in your trial
QuoteCloud Payments is on the Essentials plan and up, and in the free 14-day trial. Connect your own Stripe account and send a test quote.
Before you start
Essentials or higher
QuoteCloud Payments is on Essentials, Business and Enterprise, not Free or Starter.
Your own Stripe account
Payments go to your Stripe account, under Stripe's terms and fees. Have your business details ready for Stripe's onboarding.
One team per account
Payment settings are per team. Plan which teams, brands or units need their own account.
Your best template
Set the payment on the template you send most, so every new document has it.
Do I need Zapier as well?
Not to take payments. Stripe is connected directly, and the payment, the Paid status and the history all work without it.
Add QuoteCloud's Zapier app, on Essentials and up, when you want each payment to go further: an invoice in Xero or QuickBooks Online, or a Slack message. Teams that use Make can build the same with QuoteCloud's API, bring your own.
Set-up questions
Where do I connect Stripe in QuoteCloud?
In the team's Payment Settings. Click your profile icon, open Settings, then Users & Roles, Teams, click Edit for your team and open the Payment Settings tab. Click Continue Onboarding and complete Stripe's set-up.
Can I disconnect or change the Stripe account?
Yes. Open the team's Payment Settings tab: once Stripe is connected, you can open your Stripe Dashboard or disconnect the account from there, then connect another.
Do I set the payment on every quote?
No. Set it on the template with the $ (Payments) icon, and every document made from it carries the same payment. You can still change the description, amount or discount on a single document.
Is there any code to write?
No. Connecting Stripe and setting the payment are both done in QuoteCloud's settings and editor. Code only comes in if you build your own automation with QuoteCloud's API.
