Stripe and QuoteCloud: sign and pay in one step
Connect your own Stripe account to QuoteCloud. Your client signs the quote, pays the deposit or the full amount by card on the same page, and the document is marked Paid on your dashboard.

QuoteCloud connects to Stripe directly: a team connects its own Stripe account in QuoteCloud's Payment Settings, on the Essentials plan and up. You set a percentage, a fixed amount or the full amount on the document; your client pays it by card right after signing, and the document is marked Paid. Zapier can pass each payment on.

Illustration with sample data: on the left a generic payments record in Larkspur Garden Co.'s Stripe account; on the right QuoteCloud's garden design & build proposal LG-2417 for Ava & Leo Marsh; a thread joins them (Direct connection). Six jobs play in turn: 1, Connect: the design & build team connects its own Stripe account in Payment Settings. 2, Set: the deposit is set to 20% of the total in the document's Payments panel. 3, Sign & pay: Ava adds garden lighting, signs and pays the $5,236.00 deposit by card on the same page. 4, Paid: the payment succeeds and QuoteCloud marks LG-2417 Paid. 5, Notify: a Zap tells the crew in Slack or Microsoft Teams (Document Part Paid then Send Channel Message). 6, what if the quote expires instead: it was never signed, so no payment is requested. It ends on the signed and paid proposal.

Stripe is connected directly in QuoteCloud, so no Zap is needed to take a payment. Zapier only comes in after it. See what it can and can't do.
One page: accept, sign, pay
Ava Marsh opens Larkspur Garden Co.'s backyard proposal on Wednesday evening, ticks garden lighting, and the 20% deposit moves with the total. She signs, and the card payment is right there, under her signature.
Try it: tick or untick the extras. The deposit, the button and the balance follow the price table, as they do for your client.
- The amount fills in from the price table: no separate invoice to send.
- Stripe processes the card; QuoteCloud never stores card details.
- The balance stays with your own invoices.

Paid, on your dashboard
When the payment goes through, the document's status changes to Paid by itself. On the dashboard, Statuses, then Paid, lists every paid document, with what has been paid so far beside each total.
Larkspur's office checks the Paid filter before ordering materials, instead of logging in to Stripe.

Who handles what in a card payment?
Four parties, and only one of them ever sees the card number.
Your client
Chooses options, signs, then enters card details and pays on the same page.
Stripe
Processes the card payment into your own Stripe account, under Stripe's PCI Level 1 certification and Stripe's fees.
QuoteCloud
Works out the amount from the price table, asks for it on signing, and marks the document Paid. It doesn't store card details.
Zapier, if you want it
Starts a Zap on Document Paid or Document Part Paid, for your accounting or team chat.
After the deposit: tell the crew
The only part of this page that needs Zapier. The payment itself never does.

Stripe questions, answered
How does QuoteCloud connect to Stripe?
Directly, with no Zap. Open Settings, Users & Roles, Teams, edit your team and open Payment Settings, then click Continue Onboarding and finish Stripe's set-up. Then set the payment on a template or a document with the $ Payments icon, and your client pays by card right after signing.
Can my client sign and pay in the same step?
Yes. The payment request appears on the same page the moment your client signs. They enter their card details, Stripe processes the payment, and the document is marked Paid on your QuoteCloud dashboard.
Which QuoteCloud plan do I need for Stripe payments?
Essentials or higher. QuoteCloud Payments is on the Essentials, Business and Enterprise plans, not Free or Starter, and you can try it in the free 14-day trial with your own Stripe account. Stripe charges its own fees, which vary by country.
Do I need Zapier to take payments with Stripe?
No. Stripe is connected directly in QuoteCloud. Zapier is only for what happens after a payment, such as an invoice in Xero or QuickBooks Online or a Slack message, using QuoteCloud's Document Paid and Document Part Paid triggers, on Essentials and up.
Does QuoteCloud store my clients' card details?
No. Your client enters their card details with Stripe and Stripe processes the payment. QuoteCloud marks the document Paid and keeps the signed document's certificate and audit trail, on Amazon Web Services with 256-bit encryption.
Your next signature can come with a deposit.
