Getting started with QuoteCloud

Connect QuoteCloud to Zapier, step by step

Check the plan, connect your QuoteCloud account in Zapier, build a first Zap that needs no mapping, test it and turn it on.

You need QuoteCloud's Essentials plan or higher and a Zapier account. In Zapier, create a Zap, choose QuoteCloud as the trigger or action app and follow Zapier's prompts to connect your QuoteCloud account. Pick the event, map the fields from earlier steps, test with a sample record, then turn the Zap on.

Before you start

  • Essentials or higher

QuoteCloud's Zapier app and API are on Essentials and up. The free 14-day trial includes them.

  • A Zapier account

Zapier is a separate service with its own plans; multi-step Zaps need a plan that allows them.

  • The right login

Decide whose QuoteCloud login the Zaps use: they act as that user. Who owns the Zaps.

  • A test record

A test document, sent to yourself, and a test record in the other app, so tests don't reach clients.

Connect QuoteCloud in Zapier

  1. Create a Zap

In Zapier, create a Zap and choose the app whose event should start it. For a QuoteCloud event, search for QuoteCloud.

  2. Pick the event

Choose the trigger by its exact name, such as Recipient First Viewed Document. Every trigger.

  3. Connect your account

Follow Zapier's prompts to connect your QuoteCloud account. Zapier remembers the connection for later Zaps.

  4. Test the trigger

Zapier pulls in a sample event from your account. Open your test document from a private link first so there's one to find.

  5. Add the steps

Add the other app's action, map the fields from the trigger, test each step, then publish the Zap.

A good first Zap: tell the team a quote was opened

Two steps, almost nothing to map, and it doesn't create documents, so there's no per-document fee.

Send a test document to your own email address, open it from the email, then test the trigger in Zapier. Your view is the sample, and the Slack message shows how the real ones will read.

The rep hears the moment a client opens the quote, and can call while it's on their screen.

Connecting Zapier, answered

Do I need a paid Zapier plan?

It depends on the Zap. Zapier is a separate service with its own plans and task limits, and Zaps with more than one action, or with Filters and Paths, need a plan that allows them. QuoteCloud's side needs the Essentials plan or higher.

Can several people in my team use the same QuoteCloud connection?

Yes, if they share the Zapier account or folder that holds it, but every Zap using it acts as that one QuoteCloud user. Decide whose login it is before you build, and keep a list of the Zaps. See who owns the Zaps.

Why can't my trigger find a sample?

Zapier needs a recent event of that kind in your account. For Recipient First Viewed Document, open a test document from its private recipient link; for Document Signing Complete, sign a test document yourself, then test the trigger again.
