Getting started with QuoteCloud

What QuoteCloud with Pipedrive can and can't do

Pipedrive and QuoteCloud meet through Zapier, or through Make if you build your own. Here's what the Zaps on this site do, how the two routes differ and where each one stops.

QuoteCloud connects to Pipedrive through Zapier, with QuoteCloud's Zapier app on Essentials and up, or through Make as a bring-your-own setup. Zaps draft quotes from deals, add notes and activities, mark deals won or lost, attach signed PDFs and match people. They don't copy a deal's product list, tick options or run both ways at once.

What can the Pipedrive Zaps do?

Six jobs, each one a Zap built with QuoteCloud's Zapier app on Essentials and up.

  • Quotes from deals

Updated Deal Stage, then Create Document: a draft from your template with the deal's details in data items.

    Quotes from deals
  • Activity on the deal

Recipient First Viewed Document or Recipient Signed Document, then Create Note or Create Activity.

    Quote activity
  • Won on signature

Document Signing Complete, Find Deals and Update Deal set the deal's status to won.

    Won on signature
  • Signed PDF on the deal

Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link, then Attach File, in the same Zap.

    Signed PDF on the deal
  • People in both apps

New persons and contacts found or created in the other app, one Zap each way.

    People matched
  • Expired and lost

An expired quote becomes an activity for the owner; a lost one marks the deal lost.

Zapier or Make: which route suits you?

Both reach the same QuoteCloud events and actions. The difference is how much you build yourself.

  • Zapier: QuoteCloud's Zapier app

Ready-made QuoteCloud triggers, actions and searches, such as Document Signing Complete and Create Document, beside Pipedrive's own Zapier app. Essentials and up; documents a Zap creates carry US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 each by volume.

    Connect it, step by step
  • Make: bring your own

Connect Make to QuoteCloud with Make's built-in OAuth, then call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints from a scenario, beside Make's own Pipedrive modules. There's no ready-made QuoteCloud app on Make, so you design each step. API access is on Essentials and up.

    Make questions, answered

Where does it stop?

None of these are bugs. Knowing them up front saves an afternoon of testing.

  • Nothing moves without a Zap

There's no direct connection on any plan: Pipedrive hears about a quote only when a Zap or a Make scenario tells it.

  • A Zap doesn't tick options or pick blocks

Create Document fills data items and price-table rows. Optional items stay for the buyer, and the template decides the content.

  • Zaps don't copy a deal's products

Find Deal Products finds one by name or ID. Keep packages in the template's price table, or map rows one by one.

  • Each Zap runs one way

From its trigger to its steps. Both directions means two Zaps, and only the events you choose are copied.

  • PDF links don't last

Generate or Fetch Document PDF Link is short-lived: attach or upload the file in the same Zap.

  • A Zap can't guess the deal

It needs a shared value: the deal's title as the document's title, or the deal ID in a data item.

What we haven't confirmed yet

We haven't confirmed whether QuoteCloud's triggers carry a document's custom data items, such as the Pipedrive deal ID, so the recipes find the deal by its title and tell you to check your Zap's test data before relying on Get Deal.

For Make, the per-document fee isn't stated either way: it's confirmed for documents created through Zapier or the API. If you plan to create documents from a Make scenario, ask us for the fee that applies to your volume.

Questions about the limits

Does QuoteCloud update Pipedrive deals automatically?

Only through Zaps you build. QuoteCloud has no direct connection to Pipedrive, so a deal changes when a Zap tells it to: setting its status to won or lost, adding a note or an activity, or attaching the signed PDF. Each Zap runs one way, from its trigger to its steps.

Does information flow both ways between Pipedrive and QuoteCloud?

In the ways you build, not as a copy of everything. A Zap can take a deal's details into a new document, and other Zaps can bring a document's views, signatures, expiry and the signed PDF back to the deal. People can be matched with one Zap each way.

Can a Zap tick optional items or choose content blocks?

No. Create Document fills data items and can add price-table rows you map, but it never ticks options or chooses content blocks. Your template decides the content and the buyer ticks the options they want before signing, so the signed total is what they chose.

Is there a fee for every Zap?

No. The per-document fee of US$2.00, $1.80 or $1.60 by volume applies to documents created through Zapier or the API, such as the quote Zap on this site. Zaps that update Pipedrive, add notes or activities, attach PDFs or match people don't create documents.

Is there a QuoteCloud app on Make?

No ready-made app, but Make works with QuoteCloud. It's a bring-your-own model: you add the connection with Make's built-in OAuth and call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints in your scenarios, beside Make's own Pipedrive modules, so you choose every step. These pages show each recipe as a Zap.
