Getting started with QuoteCloud

QuoteCloud implementation for telco sales teams

Price book, templates, CRM, roles and approvals, then training: everything in place before your first live proposal.

A QuoteCloud implementation for a telco sales team covers importing the price book from CSV, converting your proposal template (one free conversion during the trial on Essentials and up), connecting the CRM, setting roles and approval rules and training the team. Enterprise adds implementation support and a dedicated account manager.

Two sample documents for a fictional provider, Tallwire Communications. A six-week QuoteCloud implementation plan as a Gantt chart: template conversion and price book CSV import in weeks 1 and 2, CRM connection in weeks 2 and 3, roles, teams and approvals in weeks 3 and 4, a pilot with four reps, team training and go-live in week 6. In front, the product catalogue after a CSV import, listing fibre, voice, mobile and hardware products with price, billing term, cost, margin and status.

Six workstreams from trial to go-live

A sample plan for a fictional 24-rep telco team. Each phase says what you bring, what QuoteCloud gives you and how you know it's done.

  1. Phase 1, Weeks 1–2

    Convert your proposal template

    You bring
Your current proposal or agreement: cover, site table, pricing, terms.
    QuoteCloud gives you
One template converted free during the trial (Essentials, Business, Enterprise). More conversions are a paid add-on, per template.
    Done when
Reps can start a branded telco proposal from the template.
  2. Phase 2, Weeks 1–2

    Import the price book

    You bring
Carrier plans, hardware and services as a CSV, with SKUs, prices and costs.
    QuoteCloud gives you
CSV import with column mapping and validation; SKUs, categories, recurring billing terms in months, and costs and margins kept from the client.
    Done when
Every plan on the rate card is a catalogue product; superseded plans are Inactive.

    Price book and margins
  3. Phase 3, Weeks 2–3

    Connect the CRM

    You bring
Your CRM and the fields that should move: client, contacts, sites, deal value.
    QuoteCloud gives you
Zapier, Make and the API on Essentials (document creation fees apply); native Salesforce, HubSpot and other CRM integrations on Business. Integration set-up help: contact sales.
    Done when
A won deal updates the CRM without anyone retyping it.
  4. Phase 4, Weeks 3–4

    Set roles, teams and approvals

    You bring
Who sells, who does pre-sales, who approves, and your discount thresholds.
    QuoteCloud gives you
Custom roles and teams (Essentials and up), catalogue and library permissions by role, approval workflows and locked content (Business).
    Done when
A discount over your threshold goes to the right approver before it can be sent.
  5. Phase 5, Weeks 4–5

    Pilot with a few reps

    You bring
Three or four reps and real RFQs, and someone from pre-sales.
    QuoteCloud gives you
Document tracking, comments in the document and version history (Business) while the pilot proposals go out.
    Done when
Pilot proposals are sent, signed and fed back into the template.
  6. Phase 6, Weeks 5–6

Train the team and go live

    You bring
The whole sales team, plus your own short playbook.
    QuoteCloud gives you
A 45-minute training session on paid plans; extra 60-minute sessions as a paid add-on. Enterprise adds implementation support and a dedicated account manager.
    Done when
Every rep sends from the template and the catalogue; spreadsheets retire.

Sample planning, not a promise: your timing depends on your templates, price book and CRM.

Your rate card in, column by column

Export the rate card your team already keeps, map each column to a catalogue field and import it. QuoteCloud checks the rows first, so the two with a missing category are fixed before anything goes live.

When a carrier changes its plans next quarter, the same file updates the catalogue, and you mark the old plans inactive.

  • Column mapping: plan code to SKU, wholesale to cost, term to duration
  • Validation before import
  • Recurring billing terms and durations in months
  • Costs and margins never reach the client

Approvals in place before the first live discount

Set the rule once: a discount over 15% goes to the sales director and finance. The proposal goes In Review, and it can't be sent until it's approved.

Roles and teams decide who sees which products and who can change prices, so new reps start with the guard rails already on.

  • Approvers approve or decline in the document

What each plan includes for getting started

Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial of Essentials or Business, with no credit card. What you get to set up a telco team depends on the plan (prices in USD per user per month, from the pricing page).

  • Essentials ($39): price tables, the product catalogue with CSV import, payments, custom roles and teams, Zapier, Make and the API, one free template conversion during the trial and a 45-minute training session.
  • Business ($59): everything in Essentials plus approval workflows, Gantt charts, content locking, version history and native CRM and accounting integrations.
  • Enterprise (custom pricing): implementation support, a dedicated account manager, premium 24×7 support, single sign-on and IP range filtering.
  • Add-ons on any paid plan: extra template conversions, extra 60-minute training sessions and premium support. Ask us for prices.

Implementation questions

How long does a QuoteCloud implementation take for a telco sales team?

It depends on how many templates you bring, the size of your price book and whether you connect a CRM. Plan the work in phases: template, price book, CRM, roles and approvals, a pilot, then training. QuoteCloud doesn't promise a fixed duration.

Will QuoteCloud convert our existing proposal template?

Yes. During the trial QuoteCloud converts one of your existing document templates free on the Essentials, Business and Enterprise plans. Additional template conversions are available as a paid add-on, billed per template.

Can we import our carrier rate card?

Yes. The product catalogue imports from CSV with column mapping and validation, so plan codes, names, categories, prices, costs and billing terms land in the right fields. The catalogue is on Essentials and above, and costs and margins are never shown to clients.

What training is included?

Paid plans include a complimentary 45-minute virtual training and Q&A session. Additional 60-minute sessions are available as a paid add-on, and the QuoteCloud user guide has hundreds of step-by-step guides.

Who helps us connect Salesforce, HubSpot or our provisioning system?

Zapier, Make and the QuoteCloud API are included from Essentials, with document creation fees for API and Zapier documents. Native CRM integrations are on the Business plan. For consultancy and integration set-up on Zapier, custom APIs or other platforms, contact sales.

What does Enterprise add for a larger rollout?

Enterprise adds implementation support, a dedicated account manager, premium 24×7 support with a guaranteed response SLA, single sign-on and IP range filtering, with flexible per-seat or per-document pricing. Talk to sales about your team size and timeline.
