Lane and spot freight quotes, back the same hour
A priced quote from your lane template: chargeable weight, linehaul, fuel surcharge and accessorials, accepted online before the customer calls someone else.
- 5/5 on G2
- 4.2 on Capterra
- Building QuoteCloud since 2013
QuoteCloud lets carriers send lane and spot quotes from their own templates. Your rate calculator in the quote works out chargeable weight and sets the linehaul and fuel lines; accessorials are lines the customer ticks. Quotes carry an expiry date, the customer accepts and signs online, and you see when it was opened.

A drawing of the outbound side of Wexmoor Freight & Logistics' Northgate cross-dock: six pallets staged in a marked bay 3 for Port Ellery, one with its dimensions, 1200 by 1000 by 1500 millimetres, and one with its consignment label, WF-Q-4821, 1 of 6, shown enlarged. A live route runs from the bay to the open dock door 2. Beside it a card moves through three moments: at 10:31 am Sophie Lindqvist of Bramblewood Homewares emails to ask for a price on six pallets to Port Ellery; at 10:42 am the lane quote goes out, 2,700 kg chargeable on cubic weight, linehaul $837.00, fuel surcharge 18.5% $154.85, tail-lift delivery $68.00, total $1,165.84 inc tax, valid 7 days; at 2:18 pm Sophie accepts it online with the certificate of authenticity attached.

The calculator and the quote, in one document
Callan types the request into the input cells of the lane calculator in Wexmoor's template: pallets, height, weight per pallet and the lane. The sheet works out the cube, the cubic and actual weight, and charges the greater of the two at the zone rate, or the minimum.
Two cells are connected to the quote. The linehaul cell sets the line's description and unit price, so the customer reads '6 pallets · 2,700 kg chargeable' on the line itself; the fuel cell does the same at this month's surcharge. The quote total comes back into the sheet for the all-in price per pallet.
The quantity on each freight line stays at one consignment, as usual. Your rates, minimums and fuel percentage live on the Rates tab, so a change there reaches the next quote.
- Chargeable weight printed on the line
- Linehaul and fuel from connected cells
- Accessorials as lines to tick

Six pallets, priced on cubic weight
Light homewares take up more space than they weigh, so the sheet charges 2,700 kg of cubic weight rather than 1,080 kg actual, at the long-haul rate. The customer ticks the tail-lift because the store has no dock.
- Chargeable weight on the linehaul line
- Fuel surcharge as its own line

What goes into a lane quote that wins the load
Built once in your template, then the same on every quote, whoever is on the desk.
Chargeable weight, shown
The greater of cubic and actual weight, worked out by your own formula and printed on the linehaul line.
The lane and its zone
Origin, destination and zone from your Rates tab, so the rate and minimum are always the ones you set.
Your fuel surcharge
This month's percentage from your sheet, as its own line, so the customer sees what it applies to.
Accessorials to tick
Tail-lift, booked delivery time, hand unload: optional lines the customer ticks, with the total following.
An expiry date
48 hours for a spot rate, a week for a lane quote. The Expiring Soon filter shows which quotes lapse next.
Your conditions of carriage
Written once in the template and accepted with the signature, with a certificate of authenticity.

After you send it
Opened, accepted and passed on to your TMS
Document tracking shows Sophie opened the quote nine minutes after it went out. She tried a booked delivery time, took it off again and accepted at 2:18 pm. A Zapier zap on the Signed Document trigger then sent the booking request to Wexmoor's transport management system (illustrative).

Lane quote questions, answered
How fast can we send a freight quote with QuoteCloud?
As fast as your pricing desk can type the request into your lane template. The calculator in the quote works out the chargeable weight, linehaul and fuel from your own rates, the connected lines update, and you send it with an expiry date. The customer accepts and signs online.
Can a spot quote expire?
Yes. Every QuoteCloud document can carry an expiry date, such as 48 hours for a spot rate, and the Expiring Soon filter shows which quotes are about to lapse so your desk can follow up or requote.
Can customers accept a freight quote on their phone?
Yes. The customer opens the quote from the email on any device, ticks the accessorials they need and signs, with no account needed. The signed quote carries a certificate of authenticity and an audit trail.
Can we quote part loads and full loads from one template?
Yes. The same rate calculator handles six pallets or twenty-two: it charges the greater of cubic and actual weight at the lane's zone rate, or the minimum. Full-load conditions and accessorials such as a booked delivery time sit in the template as text and optional lines.
Can our booking form fill in the quote?
Yes, through Zapier. A zap can create the quote from your template and write the booking form's pallets, height, weight and lane into the calculator's input cells, on Essentials and up. Writing cells through the API isn't confirmed, so use Zapier for that step.
Does QuoteCloud book the freight once the quote is accepted?
No. QuoteCloud records the accepted quote and its signature. Booking, dispatch and tracking stay in your transport management system; a Zapier zap on the Signed Document trigger can send the details there where your system has a connector.
