Log every quote event in Google Sheets
Each time a QuoteCloud document is sent, viewed, signed, paid or expires, a Zap adds a row to your log. Your own formulas turn the rows into the weekly report.

- Building QuoteCloud since 2013
Build one small Zap per event with QuoteCloud's Zapier app, on Essentials and up. QuoteCloud's trigger, such as Document Signing Complete or Document Expired, starts it, and Google Sheets' Create Spreadsheet Row adds the time, document, client, event and amount to a Log tab. Nothing is overwritten, so COUNTIFS and SUMIFS can report on every event.

Why keep a quote log in Google Sheets?
Tidewell Pavilion's functions team meets every Monday over one question: what went out last week, what got signed and what's about to lapse. Until now, Tom Achebe built the answer by opening every proposal in QuoteCloud and typing the results into a sheet.
Now each QuoteCloud event adds its own row to the Log tab of the team's Proposals sheet. Nothing is edited after it's written, so the log is a full history: two Viewed rows and a Signed row tell a different story from one Expired row, and the sheet's own formulas count them.
- One row per event, never overwritten, so nothing is lost when a status changes again.
- The columns are yours: time, document, client, event, amount and owner, or whatever your report needs.
- Want one row per quote that changes instead? That's the pipeline tracker.
How does a signature become a row in the log?
Two steps. Copy the Zap for each event you want to log and change only the trigger and the Event value.

Type the Event value (Signed, Viewed, Expired) into each Zap rather than mapping it, so the log's wording stays the same. The column map lists every field.
Priya Raman signs TP-2846 at 6:15 pm on Friday. Row 10 of the Log appears straight away: the time, TP-2846, Priya Raman, Signed, $8,558.00. Two minutes later her deposit adds row 11.
Result
A complete, time-ordered history of every proposal in one tab, without anyone typing it.

Which QuoteCloud events can add a row?
Each is a QuoteCloud trigger in Zapier. Pick the ones your report needs; each gets its own small Zap.
Sent
Document Status Changed, with the status you pick in the trigger. Its output carries the line items, totals and signer details.
Viewed
Recipient First Viewed Document fires when an identified recipient first opens the document.
Signed
Recipient Signed Document for each signer, or Document Signing Complete once every signer has signed.
Paid
Document Part Paid for a deposit, Document Paid when the document is fully paid, through QuoteCloud Payments.
Expired or lost
Document Expired when the valid-until date passes unsigned, Document Lost when your team marks it lost.
Comments
Document Comment Event when a comment is made, resolved or reopened, for teams that track client questions.
Turn the log into a report with your own formulas
Because every event is its own row, a Summary tab can count and add them with ordinary Google Sheets formulas: COUNTIFS for how many proposals were sent or viewed, SUMIFS for the value signed or paid in a month.
Tidewell's Summary tab shows October at a glance: three proposals sent worth $29,888.00, two signed worth $23,508.00 and $5,877.00 in deposits taken. Charts and pivot tables work on the same rows.
- The formulas are Google Sheets' own; QuoteCloud only adds the rows.
- QuoteCloud's own Reports Dashboard and Sales Forecast are on the Business plan, if you'd rather report inside QuoteCloud.

Variations for the quote log
Small changes to the Zap, each a different Google Sheets action or one extra step, and the Make route.
Newest at the top
Use Google Sheets' Create Spreadsheet Row at Top instead, so the latest event is always row 2.
A tab per year or per team
Point each Zap's Worksheet at a different tab, or add a Filter by Zapier step on the document's owner.
Tell the team as well
Add a Slack or Microsoft Teams message to the signed and paid Zaps; the row still lands first.
Build it in Make instead
Bring your own: connect Make to QuoteCloud with Make's built-in OAuth, call QuoteCloud's API or Zapier endpoints in a scenario and add the row with Make's own Google Sheets modules. No ready-made QuoteCloud app on Make.
Start the log with a free trial
QuoteCloud's Zapier app is on the Essentials plan and up. Start a free 14-day trial, make a copy of your sheet and log a test proposal sent to an @example.com address.
Build the quote log in five steps
- 1
Add a Log tab
In your Google Sheet, add a tab with a header row such as When, Document, Client, Event, Amount and Owner.
- 2
Pick the first event
In Zapier, choose QuoteCloud's Document Signing Complete trigger (or whichever event matters most) and connect your QuoteCloud account.
- 3
Add the row
Add Google Sheets' Create Spreadsheet Row, choose the spreadsheet and the Log worksheet, and map each column. Type the Event value.
- 4
Copy it for each event
Copy the Zap for Viewed, Paid and Expired, changing only the trigger and the Event value.
- 5
Test, then turn them on
Send a test document to an @example.com address, open and sign it, check the rows, then switch the Zaps on.
Questions about the quote log
Why one Zap per event instead of one Zap for everything?
Because a Zap starts from one trigger. Document Signing Complete, Document Expired and Recipient First Viewed Document are separate triggers, so each gets a small Zap with the same Create Spreadsheet Row step. Copy the first Zap and change the trigger and the Event value; it takes a minute each.
Does the log overwrite earlier rows?
No. Create Spreadsheet Row always adds a new row, so a proposal that's viewed, signed and paid has three rows. That's what makes the log a history. If you want one row per proposal that changes as it moves, use Lookup Spreadsheet Row and Update Spreadsheet Row instead.
Can the log show the document's total?
Yes, when the trigger passes it. Zapier's help text on Document Status Changed says its output carries line items, totals and signer details; check each trigger's test data in your Zap for the total and the date before mapping the Amount column.
Does logging rows cost anything in QuoteCloud?
No. The per-document fee applies only to documents created through Zapier or the API. A Zap that adds rows to Google Sheets doesn't create documents, though each run uses a task on your Zapier plan. QuoteCloud's Zapier app needs the Essentials plan or higher.

Six use cases with the exact Zapier steps, then how to connect, test and what it costs.
- Keep a quote pipeline tracker in Google SheetsOne row per quote: a Zap adds it when the document is created and updates its status as it changes.
- Create quotes from Google Sheets rowsA new row creates the document from your template, with the row's details in data items and price-table rows.
- Fill a price table from Google Sheets linesOne sheet row per product line: a Zap looks the lines up and adds them to the new quote's price table.
- Feed the product library from a Google Sheets price listKeep prices in the sheet you already maintain: a Zap creates or updates each QuoteCloud product from its row.
- Google Sheets or QuoteCloud's Spreadsheet block? Two different spreadsheets: your Google Sheet outside, the Spreadsheet block inside the quote, and how a Zap reaches each.
- Connect Google Sheets to QuoteCloud, step by stepCheck the plan, set up the sheet's header row, connect both apps in Zapier and test your first Zap.
