Draft quotes from emails and call notes
Paste the request into your AI assistant. Connected through QuoteCloud's MCP service, it can be set up to leave a priced draft in QuoteCloud for you to check and send.

With QuoteCloud's MCP service (Essentials and up), an AI assistant can be set up to turn a customer's email or your call notes into a draft quote: it finds the client, starts from your template and adds lines from your product library at your prices. The draft waits in QuoteCloud until a person checks and sends it.

Illustration with a fictional business: an estimator at Morrowgate Print & Signs pastes Marcus Vale's email asking for 1,200 printed kraft cartons into an AI assistant and asks for a draft. The assistant lists what it did in QuoteCloud: found Fernhollow Tea Co., created a draft from the printed carton template, added the cartons, a cutting forme and pallet delivery from the product library, and put the spec in the draft's details. Then it shows the draft MP-P-3108: 1,200 cartons $1,548.00, cutting forme $680.00, pallet delivery $95.00, $2,555.30 including tax, marked Draft, not sent.

Why retype a request that's already written down?
Most quotes start as words: an email with a quantity and a size, a page of notes from a call, a website enquiry. Someone reads it, finds the client, opens the right template, looks up each product and types it all in again.
An AI assistant is good at the reading. On its own, though, it doesn't know your clients, your templates or your prices, and a quote written from memory is a guess. Connected to QuoteCloud through MCP, it can be set up to do the retyping inside your account, with your own products and prices, and leave the result as a draft.
- The assistant reads; QuoteCloud holds the template, the product library and the prices
- The result is a draft in QuoteCloud, not a block of text to copy
- A person checks it, finishes it and sends it
How does an emailed request become a draft quote?
Marcus at Fernhollow Tea Co. emails Morrowgate for 1,200 printed cartons. Rafe pastes the email into his assistant and asks for a draft on the carton template.
Depending on how the connection is set up, the assistant can find the client, create the draft from that template, add the cartons, the cutting forme and delivery from the product library and put the size, board and delivery in the draft's details. Then it stops and tells Rafe what's left to check.
- Name the template in the request, or keep one template per kind of job
- Lines come from your product library at your prices
- Ask for a draft, and say what you'll check

And from rough call notes?
Jonah at Ashgrove People & Payroll finishes a call with Nadia at Brightwater Bakeries and pastes his notes: 86 staff on three pay frequencies, the HR advice line, no leave admin yet.
The assistant can be set up to start the proposal from Ashgrove's payroll template, add the services from the catalogue and draft a short summary of the call for Jonah to edit. It also says what the notes don't cover, such as the second signer's email.
- Notes stay notes: the assistant reads them, your template shapes the proposal
- What's missing is flagged to the person, not guessed

What does the person check before sending?
The draft is an ordinary QuoteCloud document, so Rafe edits it like any other: he checks the board price against this week's mill price, attaches the dieline proof and sends it from QuoteCloud.
Marcus opens it, signs online and pays the 30% deposit through PayPal. The quote's activity shows each step, from the draft to the signature.
- Prices and quantities, especially anything new or unusual
- Wording the assistant wrote, such as an introduction
- Recipients, signers and the expiry date
- If you use approval workflow (Business), ask our team how it applies to drafts your assistant prepares

Where the request can come from
Anything you can paste or type into your assistant can be the starting point.
A customer's email
Quantities, sizes, dates and delivery details, as the customer wrote them.
Call or meeting notes
Your own shorthand. The assistant asks you about what's missing instead of guessing.
A website enquiry
The text of the form. QuoteCloud's article describes websites, MCP and QuoteCloud working together for exactly this.
Last time's job
"Same as last year, 2,500 this time." The assistant can be set up to find the earlier quote first.

Check, then send
Open the draft in QuoteCloud, check prices and wording, and send it yourself.
Drafting questions
Can an AI assistant create a QuoteCloud quote from an email?
Yes, it can be set up to. With QuoteCloud's MCP service, on Essentials and up, an assistant you've connected can read an email you paste in, find the client, start a draft from your template and add lines from your product library. The draft waits in QuoteCloud for a person to check and send.
Where do the prices in an AI-drafted quote come from?
From your QuoteCloud product library, at your prices, when the assistant is set up to add lines from it. That's the point of connecting it: QuoteCloud's guidance is that the AI shouldn't invent commercial logic. Anything not in the library is for the person reviewing the draft to price.
Does the assistant send the quote?
Not in these examples. QuoteCloud's guidance asks whether an assistant should be able to create a proposal but not send it, and that's the set-up shown here: the assistant prepares a draft, and a person checks it and sends it from QuoteCloud.
What should I check in an AI-drafted quote?
Everything you'd check in a colleague's draft: prices and quantities, especially anything unusual, wording the assistant wrote, the recipients and signers, and the expiry date. AI-generated content can contain mistakes, so review it before sending.
