Find documents, products and approved wording
Last year's quote for a client, a line in your product library, the approved terms: your AI assistant can be set up to find them in QuoteCloud, and start a new draft when you ask.
- 5/5 on G2
- 4.2 on Capterra
- Building QuoteCloud since 2013
Through QuoteCloud's MCP service (Essentials and up), an AI assistant can be set up to retrieve document data, locate products and access approved content in your QuoteCloud account, so you can ask for last year's quote or a product's price in a sentence. Changes to an existing document are made in QuoteCloud by a person.

Illustration with a fictional business: Ines at Wexmoor Freight & Logistics asks her AI assistant what Wexmoor quoted Bramblewood Homewares for warehousing and whether they signed. It answers with WF-W-0327, warehousing and distribution for Bramblewood Homewares, $63,723.00 including tax, signed. She then asks for a tail-lift delivery line and the approved liability wording; it finds Tail-lift delivery, metro, $140.00 per drop in the product library and the Liability & insurance terms block in the content library.

Searching is the part nobody bills for
QuoteCloud's own article on MCP names it: people constantly search for the same content, and salespeople keep asking the same questions about products, pricing and previous documents.
Connected through QuoteCloud's MCP service, an assistant can be set up to do those searches inside your account: find a past document, look up a product, fetch the approved wording. It answers with what's actually in QuoteCloud, so the answer can be checked.
What did we quote them last time?
Ines at Wexmoor is about to price a renewal for Bramblewood Homewares. She asks what they quoted last time and whether it was signed. The assistant finds WF-W-0327 and its total, and points her to it in QuoteCloud.
Then she asks for a tail-lift delivery line and the approved liability wording. The assistant finds the line in the product library and the block in the content library, both exactly as stored.
- Past documents by client, with their status and total
- Products from your library, at your prices
- Approved content blocks, as written by your team

Illustration with a fictional business. What an assistant can find depends on how your MCP connection is set up; changes to an existing document are made in QuoteCloud.
Finding, starting and changing: who does what?
Finding is the safest job to hand over. Changing an existing document stays in QuoteCloud.
Find: the assistant
It can be set up to retrieve document data, locate products and fetch approved content, reading only what you allow.
Start: the assistant, as a draft
It can be set up to start a new draft from your template, for example this year's renewal, for a person to check. See drafts from emails and notes.
Change: a person, in QuoteCloud
Editing a sent or signed document isn't something we document for MCP. Your team opens it in QuoteCloud and changes it there.

Things to ask for
Examples. What your assistant can find depends on what your MCP connection lets it read.
A past quote
"What did we quote Bramblewood last year, and did they sign?"
A product or price
"Do we have a tail-lift delivery line, and what does it cost?"
Approved wording
"Find our approved liability terms." Wording comes back as your team wrote it.
The right template
"Which template do we use for warehousing renewals?"
How to make your account easy to search
An assistant can only find what's stored well.
- 1
Name documents clearly
Client and job in the title, so "the Bramblewood warehousing quote" finds one document.
- 2
Keep the library current
Products with clear names and today's prices in the product library.
- 3
Store approved wording once
Terms and standard sections as blocks in your content library.
- 4
Connect for reading first

Finding questions, answered
Can an AI assistant search my QuoteCloud documents?
It can be set up to. QuoteCloud's MCP service (Essentials and up) can give a connected assistant access to retrieve document data, so you can ask for a client's past quote and its status in a sentence. What it can see depends on how your connection is set up.
Can it look up products and prices?
Yes, it can be set up to locate products in your QuoteCloud product library and give you the line and price as stored. It doesn't set prices: those stay as your team keeps them in the library.
Can the assistant edit a document that's already been sent?
We don't document that for MCP. On this site the assistant finds documents and can start new drafts; a person opens an existing document in QuoteCloud and changes it there. If you need more, talk to our team about your workflow.
Does the assistant change our approved wording?
It shouldn't need to. QuoteCloud's guidance asks whether an assistant should be able to read an agreement but not alter contractual wording. Give it read access to approved content, and keep editing that content with your team.
