Getting started with QuoteCloud

One telco price book, with margins your client never sees

Plans, devices and services with SKUs, billing terms and costs in one catalogue, so every quote uses approved prices and every deal shows its margin.

QuoteCloud's product catalogue works as a telco price book: each product has a SKU, category, price and cost with profit and margin calculated, and recurring costs carry a billing term in months. Import or update it from CSV, quote from it in price tables, and keep cost and margin columns hidden from the client.

When a carrier changes its plans

Update the price book once and every rep quotes the new prices, instead of each one fixing their own spreadsheet.

  1. Prepare the new list

Put the carrier's new plans and buy rates in a CSV file: SKU, name, category, price, cost and billing term.

  2. Import with column mapping

Map each column to a catalogue field. QuoteCloud validates the rows before they are imported or updated.

  3. Retire what the carrier withdrew

Mark withdrawn plans Inactive, and keep new products in Draft until their pricing is signed off.

  4. Quote from the new list

Reps search the catalogue or filter by category inside the proposal, and each product arrives with its new price, cost and billing term.

One price table, two views

The same three-site proposal, from the client's side and from your team's. Change the term on the first tab and the margin on the second follows.

Prices, terms and options, nothing more

Monthly and once-off charges by site, a term switch and optional upgrades. The client never sees a buy rate.

A discount past policy waits for approval

Margins only stay protected if a deep discount can't go out unseen. On the Business plan, an approval workflow can hold any proposal with a discount above your threshold, or above a total value, In Review until the sales director and finance approve it.

Approvers review the proposal in Workflow Review and approve or decline it. Only an approved proposal moves on to be sent.

  • Triggers on discount percentage, total value, team, role, template, product folder or customer
  • Approvers taken from a role, with every approval required
  • Ready-made templates such as Approval by Discount Level

What each product in the price book holds

Set up once by whoever owns pricing, then used by every rep in every proposal.

  • SKU and categories

A SKU, a category and two levels of subcategory, so fibre, voice, mobile and hardware are easy to find.

  • Billing term and duration

Recurring costs carry a billing term and a duration in months. Hardware and installation stay once-off.

  • Price, cost and margin

Each product holds a price and a cost, with profit and margin calculated. Only your team sees them.

  • Active, Draft or Inactive

Keep each product Active, Draft or Inactive as carrier plans come and go, so new plans can wait for sign-off.

  • Categories by team

Assign product categories to teams and set catalogue permissions by role, so each team quotes its own range.

  • Product images

Add images to handsets, routers and access points. They arrive with the product in the price table.

  • Quantity rules

Any quantity or preset values, a default quantity, and an option to let the recipient change it.

  • Bulk changes

Select products to duplicate, set to draft or delete in bulk, and choose the columns, filters and sorting you work with.

Import your price list during the trial

Free for 14 days, no credit card required. Bring a carrier CSV and quote from it the same day.

Bundles, discounts and your own calculations

Standard bundles, such as an office starter with fibre, voice seats and a router, can be set up with the Contract Plans add-on: a plan with its assigned products, a term in months, start and expiry dates and attachments.

Inside the price table, a Discount column takes a label, a default value and a value type, applied before or after tax, and custom columns (text, number, percentage, dropdown or formula) hold whatever your deal desk needs to see. Read more about price tables and the product catalogue.

Price book and margin questions

Can QuoteCloud hold our telco price book?

Yes. The product catalogue stores plans, services and hardware with a SKU, category and subcategories, price and cost, images, and recurring costs with a billing term and duration in months. Reps add products to price tables from the catalogue by search or category, so every proposal uses the same prices. The product catalogue is on Essentials and above.

How do we update prices when a carrier changes its plans?

Import the new list from CSV. QuoteCloud maps your columns to catalogue fields and validates the rows before importing. Then mark withdrawn plans Inactive and keep new products in Draft until they are approved. Products added to proposals from then on carry the new prices and costs.

Can customers see our costs or margins?

No. Each product's cost, profit and margin stay on your side, and cost and margin columns in a price table can be hidden from the client. Your team sees the commercial position of every deal while the client sees only their prices, terms and options.

Can a low-margin deal be stopped before it is sent?

On the Business plan, an approval workflow can hold a proposal In Review when its discount percentage or total value passes a threshold you set, or by team, role, template, product folder or customer. Approvers see the deal and approve or decline it before the rep can send it.

Can different sales teams see different products?

Yes. Product categories can be assigned to teams, and role permissions control who can view or change the catalogue. A mobile team can quote from its plans and handsets while the enterprise team sees connectivity and managed services. Reps see only the ranges their team sells.

Can we start from our existing price spreadsheet?

Yes. Save it as CSV and import it into the product catalogue: QuoteCloud maps your columns to fields such as SKU, category, price, cost and billing term, and validates the rows first. During the 14-day trial QuoteCloud also converts one existing template for free on Essentials, Business and Enterprise, and paid plans include a 45-minute training session.
