Pallets, freight and landed cost, worked out in the quote
Your carton, pallet and freight spreadsheet as a block in the order: cells set the freight line's description and price, and the total comes back for a delivered cost.
- 5/5 on G2
- 4.2 on Capterra
- Building QuoteCloud since 2013
QuoteCloud's Spreadsheet block, on Essentials and up, is a full spreadsheet inside the quote: formulas, tabs and .xlsx import. Build your carton-to-pallet and freight maths on it, connect any cell to a price line's description and unit price, and bring the price table total back into a cell for a landed cost per carton. A Zapier step can write the carton counts.

A formula bar stepping through a fictional wholesaler's Freight tab: B2, 40 cartons of TT-CUP12; D2 =B2/C2, 0.67 of a pallet; D6 =ROUNDUP(SUM(D2:D5),0), 1.59 pallets to 2; D9 =D6*D7+D8, 2 × $68 + $35 drop = $171.00. Below, a drawing of two 1,200 by 1,000 millimetre pallets with each product's share of a pallet as a block, 1,200 millimetres high when full: pallet 1 full, pallet 2 part filled with the rest dashed. The card: the freight line 'Delivery: 2 pallets to Riverside (Zone B)', $171.00, its description from B9 and unit price from D9; the order total $5,273.95 back in D10; $54.37 per carton delivered in D11.

The Freight tab, cell by cell
Pinecrest's order holds a Spreadsheet block with Tanbark's freight maths. The cartons for each SKU sit in B2:B5, written by a Zapier step or typed. Column C looks up cartons per pallet on the Rates tab, column D works out each SKU's share of a pallet, and D6 rounds the total up to whole pallets.
D9 prices the delivery: pallets × the zone rate + the drop fee. B9 and D9 are connected to the freight line's description and unit price, and the price table total comes back into D10, so D11 shows the delivered cost per carton. Click a cell to see its formula.
- Cell → a line's description and unit price
- Price table total → a cell
- Quantities stay on the price lines

Landed cost for an indent order
For a full container shipped from the factory to order, Tanbark prices from landed cost: the factory price, freight per carton, clearance and insurance, and duty at its own rate. The target margin turns the landed cost into the unit price, and B11 and B12 set the indent line's unit price and description.
The order total comes back into B13 and B14 checks the margin on the whole order. The costing sits in a section set to Hide from Recipient, so Sofia sees the line and the price, never the build-up.

Questions about pallet and freight calculators
Can QuoteCloud calculate freight?
Your own maths can. Build the calculator in a Spreadsheet block inside the quote with your rates: cartons per pallet, zone rates and drop fees. QuoteCloud doesn't fetch carrier rates or book freight; it runs the formulas you build.
How does a cell get into the price table?
Any cell can be connected to a price table line's description and unit price, so the freight line reads, for example, “Delivery: 2 pallets to Riverside” at $171.00. Quantities stay on the line as usual. The price table total can also be brought back into a cell.
Can Zapier fill in the cartons?
Yes. Zapier can write values into Spreadsheet block cells, so the carton counts from your website or order system can land in the Freight tab and the sheet recalculates. Writing cells through the API isn't confirmed; use Zapier.
Can we keep our costing away from the buyer?
Yes. Put the costing tab in a section set to Hide from Recipient: your team sees it in the editor, and the buyer sees only the line and its price. Product costs in the catalogue are hidden from buyers too.
Which plan includes the Spreadsheet block?
The Spreadsheet block is on Essentials and up, with price tables, the product catalogue and Zapier. It supports formulas such as SUM, ROUNDUP, IF and XLOOKUP, several tabs and .xlsx import.
