Quantity breaks and bundles, with approval on the big ones
Break pricing the buyer can read, kits bundled from your catalogue, and any discount past your limit In Review until a director approves it.

- Building QuoteCloud since 2013
On the Business plan, QuoteCloud adds product discounts and product bundling, and an approval workflow that puts a document In Review when its discount percentage or total value passes your limit; it can't be sent until approved. Quantity breaks can be shown as alternative rows the buyer chooses between, each with its discount.

A drawing of five columns of cartons on pallets, each as tall as its discount, with a dashed plane marking a fictional wholesaler's 20% approval limit: 1 to 19 cartons at list, $68.00 a carton; 20 to 59 cartons less 8%, $62.56; 60 to 119 less 12%, $59.84; 120 or more less 18%, $55.76; and project pricing less 22%, $53.04, whose top layer breaks through the plane. In front, Ferngully Events' quote TT-Q-4480 offering the three breaks as a choice (60 cartons chosen) and the rule: a discount over 20% puts the quote In Review until a director approves it, on the Business plan.

In ReviewDiscount over 20%: a director approves first (Business)
Over the limit, it waits for a director
Halyard Hotels' opening order carries 22% project pricing on every line. Tanbark's limit is 20%, so the approval workflow puts the quote In Review as soon as it's prepared, and it can't be sent until Rhea approves it.
It doesn't matter who prepared the quote: Owen, the website or the order assistant. The documents are ordinary QuoteCloud documents, so the same rule applies to every one of them.

Breaks the buyer can choose, a kit they can add
Ferngully Events stocks pop-up bars all summer. Tanbark offers the cups at three quantity breaks as a single choice, each row with its discount in the Discount column, and lets Leah tick a pop-up bar kit: cups, lids, boxes and bags bundled at one price.
Pick a different break or add the kit and the total and deposit follow. The breaks are Tanbark's own price levels entered as rows; every one is under the 20% limit, so no approval was needed before Owen sent the quote.

Questions about breaks, bundles and approvals
Can QuoteCloud show quantity break pricing?
Yes, as rows the buyer chooses between: add each break as an alternative row in a single-choice group, with its discount in the Discount column, and the total follows the buyer's choice. Product Discounts are also on the Business plan.
Can we bundle products into a kit?
Yes. Product Bundling is on the Business plan. In a quote, a kit can also be an optional line the buyer ticks, with its contents in the line note.
What triggers an approval?
On the Business plan, the approval workflow puts a document In Review when its discount percentage or its total value passes the limit you set. The approvers approve or decline it, and it can't be sent until it's approved.
Do approvals apply to quotes our website or assistant prepares?
Yes, when QuoteCloud is set up that way: documents created through the API, Zapier, Make or an MCP assistant are ordinary QuoteCloud documents, so the same approval rules apply to them as to a rep's quote.
Can we approve on margin?
The approval triggers are the discount percentage and the total value. Your team can see each line's cost and margin while you review, but margin itself isn't an approval trigger.
