AI-drafted proposals and audit reports, reviewed by people
Your AI assistant, connected through QuoteCloud's MCP service, turns the data you hold into drafts your consultants check and send.

QuoteCloud's MCP service, on Essentials and up, lets an AI assistant work with QuoteCloud. An HR or payroll firm can set it up to draft a proposal from a CRM deal's headcount, or an audit report from a completed questionnaire, as drafts a consultant reviews. Approvals still apply and nothing is sent without a person.
Last reviewed by the QuoteCloud team
An illustration with fictional data of how an AI assistant connected through QuoteCloud's MCP service can be set up to work for an HR and payroll firm. On the left, what it may read: a CRM cabinet, a completed questionnaire and last year's agreement. Routes run into the assistant, and from it to a draft lying in QuoteCloud, banded Draft. From the draft the only route runs to a consultant's review desk, marked with a tick, and from there to the client's signature; a low wall stands between the assistant and the client. Under it five steps: reads what it may, creates a draft from your template, draft for review with nothing sent, a person reviews then sends, and the client signs with a certificate of authenticity.

Three flows from data you hold to a signed document
A proposal from a CRM deal, an audit report from a completed questionnaire, a renewal from a changed headcount. In each, the assistant drafts; a consultant reviews, sends and owns the result.

Illustrative: what an assistant connected through QuoteCloud's MCP service can be set up to do, depending on how you design and authorise it. The steps are examples, not named QuoteCloud tools; the requests, businesses and figures are fictional. Read QuoteCloud's article on when and why to implement an MCP AI service.
Decide what it may read, do and never touch
The boundaries are part of the design, decided before the assistant drafts anything. These are the ones an HR and payroll firm would typically set.
Minimum necessary access. QuoteCloud's own guidance is to expose only the data and actions the assistant needs for one defined workflow: a drafting assistant may need client information and approved content, but not the authority to send. From when and why to implement an MCP AI service.

Every draft lands in front of a consultant
The assistant leaves the Larchmont health check as a draft in QuoteCloud. Before anything goes to Elise, Rafael works through it: he confirms or changes each suggested rating, checks the findings wording, checks the fix lines and prices, and rewrites the summary in his own words.
Only then does he send it. Try the review: the send button stays off until every part has been checked.

When an MCP assistant helps, and when it doesn't
Following QuoteCloud's own advice: start from a workflow, not an AI strategy.
Helps: many similar documents
Payroll proposals, renewals and audit reports that follow the same template, month after month.
Helps: data that already exists
Headcounts in the CRM, answers in a completed Forms block, last year's agreement in QuoteCloud.
Helps: retyping between systems
When consultants copy the same figures from one place into a proposal every week.
Not needed: writing help only
If you only want help with wording, the AI Co-Worker works in the editor, its output flagged until accepted (Business).
Not yet: a few bespoke documents
Low volumes of one-off proposals are often quicker to write by hand.
Not yet: messy data
If headcounts and rates aren't kept consistently, tidy them first: an assistant can't fix the data behind it.
Set up AI drafting for one workflow first
Start narrow, review every draft, then widen what it does.
- 1
Pick one workflow
For example payroll proposals from CRM deals, or audit reports from completed questionnaires.
- 2
Tidy the sources
Templates, your content library and catalogue, and consistent headcounts in the CRM.
- 3
Connect the assistant
Connect your AI assistant through QuoteCloud's MCP service, on Essentials and up.
- 4
Set the boundaries
Minimum access, drafts only, nothing sent, and your approval rules left in place.
- 5
Review, then widen
Review every draft for a few weeks before you add the next workflow.
AI drafting and MCP questions, answered
What is QuoteCloud's MCP service?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is a standard way for AI applications to connect to tools and data. QuoteCloud's MCP service lets a compatible AI assistant work with QuoteCloud, within the boundaries you set. It's on Essentials and up.
Can an AI assistant write and send our proposals automatically?
No. It can be set up to draft a proposal or audit report from your template, library and catalogue, but the document is a draft a consultant reviews. Your consultant sends it, and the client signs. Approval rules apply as for any other document.
What data does the assistant need for a payroll proposal?
Headcounts by pay frequency and the modules the client asked about, usually from the CRM deal, plus your template, content library and catalogue. It never needs employee names, pay, bank or tax details, and shouldn't be connected to them.
Can it draft an HR audit report from a questionnaire?
It can be set up to read the answers in a completed Forms block, create a draft from your audit template, suggest a rating and finding per area from your findings library and add the matching fixes as optional lines. Your consultant confirms every rating before sending.
Can it prepare a renewal when a client's headcount changes?
It can be set up to find last year's agreement, create a draft renewal, reprice the lines for the new headcount and add a line for a new site, from figures in your CRM. Someone on your team checks the headcount with the client and sends it.
How is this different from the AI Co-Worker?
The AI Co-Worker helps staff inside the QuoteCloud editor, and its output is flagged until accepted; it's on Business. An assistant connected through the MCP service works from outside QuoteCloud with the data and actions you allow, and leaves drafts for review.
