How do I share a document securely with a client?

Send it as a link instead of an attachment. In QuoteCloud choose Send Via Link, switch on password protection in the link's security settings, and give each recipient their own link. Share the password through a different channel, hide internal sections from the recipient, and use the optional one-time passcode if they need to sign.

Can I password protect a QuoteCloud document?

Yes. Click Send, choose Send Via Link, make sure the link is Active and open Edit security settings for this link. Turn on Password Protection, enter and confirm the password and save. Anyone opening the link then sees a password form before the document opens.

What is the difference between a general link and a recipient link?

The general link is a single shareable URL for the document that you can switch between Active and Inactive. A recipient link is a unique link generated for one recipient's email address, so each person gets their own way in. Both are created from Share Link in the document menu.

Can I hide parts of a document from the recipient?

Yes. Right-click a section tab in the editor and choose Hide from Recipient. The section is shaded in the editor so your team knows it's hidden, and the recipient doesn't see it. Unhide it the same way. It suits internal notes, cost breakdowns and margins.

5 steps, start to signature.

Step 1: Choose Send Via Link

Click Send in the document editor and choose Send Via Link to create a sharing link for the document.
Step 2: Turn on password protection

Make sure the link is Active, open Edit security settings for this link, switch on Password Protection, enter the password and save.
Step 3: Give each recipient their own link

Pick a recipient from the Links for Recipients list to generate a unique link for that person, then copy and share it.
Step 4: Hide internal sections

Right-click a section tab and choose Hide from Recipient. Hidden sections are shaded in the editor and not shown to the recipient.
Step 5: Share the password separately

Send the password through a different channel from the link, then follow opens and signatures from the dashboard.
