Getting started with QuoteCloud

Good, better, best options in every quote

Put three ways to do the job in one quote. The customer picks one, ticks the extras they want, and the total and deposit follow.

In QuoteCloud you offer good, better and best options as a single-choice group in the price table: three systems, boards or sizes, with the one you recommend selected. The customer picks one, ticks optional add-ons, and the totals and deposit recalculate as they choose. Price tables are on the Essentials plan and above.

Three split-system sizes from a fictional business, Ridgeline Trade Services, side by side as a single choice: 2.5 kW for a bedroom at $1,290, 3.5 kW for a living room at $1,590 (recommended) and 5.0 kW for open-plan living at $2,190, each plus tax.

Three jobs, three ways to do each

Options work for almost any trade job. Switch between the sample quotes and choose an option in each: the system line and the totals change with it.

Three sizes with the room each suits. Extra pipe runs are an add-on with a quantity, so a longer run is priced without rewriting the quote.

Try it: pick a size, tick an extra

This is how the customer sees the split-system quote. Choose another size and the system line, subtotal, tax, total and deposit all change. Untick the extra pipe run and they change again.

Behind it is one price table: a single-choice group for the sizes, the installation lines every option needs, and optional rows for the extras.

  • One option selected by default, the one you recommend
  • Optional rows the customer ticks or leaves
  • Deposit as a percentage of whatever they choose

Setting up options that work

A few price-table settings do all of it. These are the ones trades use most.

  • Single-choice groups

Put the options in one group so the customer can pick only one: a system, a board or a size.

  • A default selection

Select the option you'd recommend so the quote opens on it. The customer can still change it.

  • Optional add-ons

Safe trays, surge protection or smoke alarms as optional rows the customer ticks or leaves.

  • Quantities they can change

Let the customer change the quantity on a line, such as extra metres of pipe or more power points.

  • A deposit that follows

Set the deposit as a percentage and it recalculates from the option and extras they choose (Essentials and up).

  • Saved in the template

Build the options once in your job template and every new quote starts with them.

Options, not discounts

Let the customer choose. You still set every price.

Every option is a price you chose, with your labour and parts in it. The customer picks the level of job, not a discount.

Add good, better, best to a job template

Four steps in the price table of your template, done once.

  1. Add the shared lines

Call-out, labour and parts every option needs go in their own sections, from your price book.

  2. Add the three options

Put the three systems, boards or sizes in one single-choice group, each with its price and a short note.

  3. Select the one you recommend

Make it the default so the quote opens on it.

  4. Add the extras

Add-ons go in as optional rows. Save the table in the template so every quote starts with it.

Options in trade quotes: questions

How do I offer good, better and best options in a quote?

Add the options to the price table as a single-choice group, so the customer can pick only one, and select the one you recommend as the default. Lines every option needs, such as call-out and labour, sit in their own sections. Price tables are on the Essentials plan and above.

Do the totals update when the customer picks an option?

Yes. When the customer picks a different option or ticks an optional add-on, the subtotal, tax, total and any deposit set as a percentage recalculate in the quote as they choose. They then sign and, if you've connected Stripe or PayPal, pay the deposit on the same page.

Can the customer change quantities?

Yes, on the lines you allow. Turn on quantity editing for a line, such as extra metres of pipe, and the customer can change it; the totals follow. In the product catalogue you can also set a product so the recipient can change its quantity.

Can I add optional extras as well as the options?

Yes. Put extras such as a safe tray, surge protection or smoke alarms in as optional rows. The customer ticks the ones they want and leaves the rest, and you can tick one by default if you usually include it.

Can I save options in a template?

Yes. Build the price table with its options and extras inside a job template, or save the table to your content library, and every new quote for that job starts with the same options and prices from your price book.
