Getting started with QuoteCloud

Solar proposal and quote templates

Real QuoteCloud templates for solar proposals and system quotes, ready for your sizing sheet, price book and datasheets.

QuoteCloud has solar panel installation proposal templates (32, 113), solar system quote templates (33, 157, 291), a solar quote template (290) and electrical services quotes (115, 117) for chargers and switchboard work. Open one, add your Spreadsheet block, products and terms, and send it for eSignature and a deposit.

Four sheets of a solar proposal built from a template by a fictional business, Tallowwood Solar & Storage, behind index tabs that take turns at the front: Cover (the Penhaligons' house, with the supply-price validity date), Sizing sheet (the Spreadsheet block's System tab, where B7 works out 15 panels), Price (the price table with panels, inverter, racking, installation, a rebate line with the installer's own figure and a 10 kWh battery chosen, $14,575.00) and Sign (both homeowners signed, 15% deposit paid via Stripe).

Build your sizing sheet into the template once

The step that turns a template into Tallowwood's proposal is the Spreadsheet block: a full spreadsheet with tabs, normal functions and number formats, typed in or imported from the .xlsx you already use. Usage takes the bills, System sizes the array, inverter and battery, Payback holds the estimate, and Rates is the price book.

Then connect the cells: rows 19 to 24 of the System tab set the panels, racking, inverter, installation and battery lines' descriptions and unit prices, and the price table total comes back into Payback!B2. Click a tab or a cell to see the formulas. Every proposal made from the template starts with all of it.

  • Usage, System, Payback and Rates tabs
  • Cells connected to price lines' descriptions and unit prices
  • The total brought back for the payback estimate
  • Your formulas and assumptions, labelled

Which template for which job

The same solar designs come in more than one version: pick the layout you like and add your sheet and price book.

  • Installation proposals (32, 113)

Long-form residential proposals with room for system specs, photos and pricing. Two designs of the same idea.

    Template 32
  • System quotes (33, 157, 291)

Shorter quotes for residential or commercial installs; 291 adds a cover letter, key benefits and a signature section.

    Template 291
  • Solar quote (290)

A customisable solar installation quote for retailers, installers and energy consultants.

    Template 290
  • Electrical quotes (115, 117)

For EV chargers, switchboard upgrades and the electrical side of an install.

Template questions

Does QuoteCloud have solar proposal templates?

Yes. There are solar panel installation proposal templates (32 and 113), solar system quote templates (33, 157 and 291) and a solar quote template (290), plus electrical services templates (115 and 117) for EV chargers and switchboard work. Each opens in QuoteCloud for you to brand and edit.

Do the templates come with a sizing calculator?

The templates give you the layout and wording. You add your own sizing calculator as a Spreadsheet block, built in QuoteCloud or imported from your .xlsx, with your formulas, assumptions and rates, then connect its cells to the price lines. Once it's in your template, every proposal starts with it.

Some template descriptions mention return on investment. Does QuoteCloud calculate it?

No. Any return or payback figure in a QuoteCloud proposal is your own estimate from your own sheet. A rebate or incentive is a line you enter with your own figure; QuoteCloud doesn't calculate, create or claim rebates or incentives, or check eligibility.

Can you convert our existing solar proposal into a template?

Yes. One template conversion is free during the trial on Essentials, Business and Enterprise. Send your current proposal and your sizing spreadsheet, and QuoteCloud converts the proposal into a template you can keep editing. Further conversions and set-up help are available through professional services.

Can I use an electrical template for EV charger quotes?

Yes. The electrical services templates (115 and 117) suit EV charger installs and switchboard upgrades. Add your charger and circuit lines, any options the household can tick, and set payment on signing to the full amount for small jobs.

Can every consultant use the same template?

Yes. Save your finished proposal as a company template and every consultant starts from it, with the same sheet, price lines, datasheets and terms. On the Business plan, content locking keeps company blocks such as your terms from being edited.
