Getting started with QuoteCloud

Residential solar proposals households can follow

The bills, the sizing, the roof, the equipment and the price in one proposal both owners read, sign and pay a deposit on.

QuoteCloud lets solar retailers send residential proposals from one template: the household's usage and the system sizing in a Spreadsheet block, the site details and roof photos, panels, inverter and battery as price lines set by the sheet, datasheets as PDFs, then both owners sign and pay a deposit through Stripe or PayPal.

Five pages of a solar and battery proposal from a fictional business, Tallowwood Solar & Storage, to Jess and Arlo Penhaligon, taking turns at the front: the cover with their roof; the sizing sheet's System tab showing 15 panels and two battery modules; the site details recorded at the visit; the price table, whose panel, inverter and battery lines are priced by the sheet, totalling $14,575.00 inc tax; and the signature page, signed by both homeowners with the 15% deposit paid.

The Penhaligons' proposal, page by page

One template, filled in for one household. Each page answers a question two owners ask before they sign.

From the kitchen table to a signed proposal

What your consultant does for each household, once the template is set up.

  1. Start from the template

Create the proposal from your residential template: cover, sheet, equipment, terms.

  2. Type in the bills

Fill in the Usage tab; the sheet sizes the system and prices the lines.

  3. Add the site

Record the roof and switchboard, and mark up the roof photos.

  4. Send or sit together

Email the link or go through it on your tablet.

  5. Both sign, deposit paid

Each owner signs and the deposit is paid through Stripe or PayPal.

Residential proposal questions

What should a residential solar proposal include?

The household's usage and how you sized the system, the site details, the equipment with datasheets, the price with any rebate or incentive shown as your line, a battery choice if you offer one, what happens after signing, your terms, and a place for every owner to sign. In QuoteCloud each of these is a block in one template.

Can both homeowners sign the same solar proposal?

Yes. Add each owner as a signer. They can sign online on their own devices or in person on your consultant's tablet, with no account needed. The signed proposal carries a certificate of authenticity and an audit trail. QuoteCloud doesn't set a signing order, so either owner can sign first.

Can the household choose a battery size in the proposal?

Yes. Put the battery sizes in a single-choice group of the price table, with a 'no battery for now' option if you like. When they choose, the total, the deposit and any payback estimate brought back into your sizing sheet all follow.

Can I add roof photos and datasheets?

Yes. Add roof photos as image or gallery blocks and mark them up in the image editor (Starter and up), and attach panel, inverter and battery datasheets and your warranty as PDF blocks. They stay with the signed proposal.

Does QuoteCloud design the system or work out the savings?

No. You size the system in your own Spreadsheet block with your formulas and assumptions, and every generation, saving and payback figure is your estimate. QuoteCloud doesn't design systems, model shading or fetch tariffs or weather data.
