Getting started with QuoteCloud

Broker proposals with the loans you compared

Your service, the loan options you typed in from each lender and your fee and commission wording, accepted and signed by every borrower.

Mortgage brokers use QuoteCloud to send a broker service proposal from their own template: the service, a table of loan options typed in from each lender's information on the day, the borrowers' choice, and the broker's fee and commission wording in a locked block. Every borrower signs online. QuoteCloud has no lender integration or rate feed.

Three sample loan options on a table beside a house key, typed in by a broker at a fictional firm, Ferrowby Advice & Lending, for a $620,000 owner-occupied loan over 30 years: Corvale Bank basic variable at 6.04%, $3,733 a month; Ambrook Mutual variable with offset at 6.19%, $3,793 a month with a $395 annual package fee; and Halsey Street Lending 2-year fixed at 5.89%, $3,674 a month. The Ambrook Mutual card slides forward, tagged as the option Mei and Daniel chose. Then the firm's wording on how it's paid locks, and Mei and Daniel Harcourt both sign. Fictional lenders and sample figures.

Mei and Daniel's broker proposal, part by part

  1. Broker types

Their first home, their names on the cover

The proposal opens on the borrowers, the date James prepared it and the date it expires, a week out, because lender figures change.

  2. Broker types

The loans James compared, as he typed them

Three options from his lender panel: rate, repayment, fees and features, typed from each lender's information on the day. The table carries the date and a plain note that QuoteCloud doesn't calculate or update any of it.

  3. Locked block

How the firm is paid, in the firm's own words

No broker fee, commission described generally, and lender fees pointing back to the table. The wording is a locked block, so it reads the same on every proposal James's colleagues send.

A comparison the borrowers can question in the document

The loan table is a table block James fills in, so it looks the same on every proposal, on a phone or a laptop. Mei asked whether the offset account had its own fee; James answered in the comment thread on the proposal.

Rates, repayments and fees are James's typing, dated and labelled. QuoteCloud has no lender integration or rate feed, and nothing in the table is a recommendation or a promise of a rate.

What a broker service proposal covers

The parts brokers put in their template, before the credit documents.

  • The borrowers' situation

What they're buying, the loan amount and term, and what matters to them, from your first meeting.

  • Your service

Pre-approval, the application, settlement and an annual check-in, with anything extra as an optional line.

  • The options you compared

A table of loans you type in from each lender's information, dated, so everyone knows when the figures were taken.

  • How you're paid

Your fee, if any, and your commission wording in a locked block, the same on every proposal.

  • Every borrower's go-ahead

Each borrower signs, with the chosen option summarised beside the signatures.

  • What comes next

The credit documents from your own systems, the application and the lender's documents to sign.

Signed, and the deal moves on in your broking CRM

When both borrowers have signed, a Zapier zap on Recipient Signed Document can update the deal in your broking CRM or aggregator platform, where it has a Zapier connector, or your developer can use the QuoteCloud API.

The proposal can also start there: your CRM creates it from your template through Zapier or the API, filling in the borrowers' names and the price lines. The loan table is still yours to type.

Broker proposal questions, answered

Does QuoteCloud pull in lender rates?

No. QuoteCloud has no lender integration or rate feed and calculates no rates or repayments. Brokers type each option into a table block from the lender's information on the day, and the table can carry the date and a note saying so. The figures are the broker's own.

Is a QuoteCloud broker proposal a regulated credit disclosure?

No. The broker service proposal is your firm's own document about your service, the options you compared and how you're paid. Regulated credit disclosures and other credit documents come from your own systems. QuoteCloud makes no claim that any document meets the rules that apply to you.

Can we show which loan the borrowers chose?

Yes. Mark the option the borrowers chose in the table and summarise it beside their signatures. The sample shows it as Mei and Daniel's choice. We don't label any option as recommended: what you recommend belongs in your own credit documents.

Can we keep our commission wording the same on every proposal?

Yes. Save it as a block in the content library and lock it, so brokers can't edit it in a proposal and only the roles you allow can change it. Content locking is on the Business plan.

Can both borrowers sign?

Yes. Add each borrower as a signer; each signs in their own browser with no account. The proposal shows who has signed, and the signed version carries a certificate of authenticity and audit trail. eSignatures are on every plan.

Does QuoteCloud connect to our aggregator platform?

Not natively. Your CRM or aggregator platform can connect through Zapier, Make or the QuoteCloud API where it has a connector or an API, from the Essentials plan. Pipedrive connects natively on Business; HubSpot and Zoho connect through Zapier.
